In "Rock Hunting Banded Obsidian Glass at Obsidian Dome - Eastern Sierras, California," we'll explore a natural dome formed about 600 years ago during a phreatic blast, where magma hit water on its way to the surface. This volcanic glass marvel is located in the Inyo National Forest, west of the stunning Highway 395 in the Eastern Sierras. In this video, I uncover many large and small pieces of obsidian glass.
