Just got back from the Dollar Tree and was SO HAPPY to see all their 2023 Spring Garden Supplies have arrived!!! Yipeeeee (Except for the bulbs, they will be there next week) But that stuff is selling fast so I am glad I got there early! I even found some adorable stacking pots for a cheap price!!! 🥰🥰🥰

Hey sweetie I had fun shopping with you. But I thought you said the DT was a cheap way to get garden stuff, I spent 80.00 in 2 days hehehehe, just kidding. Girl, I'm so excited I got so many goodies, Zinnas seeds, marigold seeds, Basil,Gladioloa Bulbs, lots of garden decor. I'm having a blast you have really lit a fire under me. Thank you sweetie!!!

I have been getting ideas from seeing what other gardeners plant in theirs, so far here in N.C. it is still to cold for planting warm weather seeds. I like your strawberry idea.
I get ideas from watching others as well. . . In fact I have been watching garden youtube videos for YEARS way before I started doing it myself. hahaha It's so addicting! AND FUN!

I love your videos and I love the video of the two bird feeders in your garden I was wondering if would you do a DIY on your bird feeders that you made they are absolutely beautiful. I'm trying to learn to be a gardener I've never had success and now I live in a super small apartment with little tiny patio. your yard is really pretty. How do I make mine cute without being junkie thank you so much for your help❤
Awww you are SO SWEET Lynda. I appreciate your kind words and compliment. I’m not sure what birdfeeders you are referring to that I made? Do you mean the one that has a pedestal where I just pour the seed on the top? If I decide to make another one, I will definitely film that I made that long before I started my CZcams channel. I once lived in a condominium that had a tiny little patio. What I did is I bought some Astroturf I think that’s called fake grass and I glued it to the patio so it gave me an outdoor feel. Then I got a few redwood pots and put flowers in them. I think what makes a backyard look chunky is when people fill it with lots of small trinkets, and things made from tin or aluminum. Terra-cotta pots never look chunky because they are so natural. If you are not confident as a gardener, I would grow some thing that is super easy and almost fail proof. Like marigolds for the sun or impatiens for the shade. Just stick with some thing that is super easy to grow and it will always look wonderful for you even if you don’t feel like you have a green thumb. and stick with natural decorations, so your garden never looks junky. Like terra-cotta pots, wooden signs and glass things like that are made from natural materials. Of course, I am no pro but nevertheless, I hope that helps. And thank you again for stopping by. @lyndasimpson4085 Ahhhh OK i know now. I sure do wish I would’ve filmed a video when I was making those. I really didn’t do anything special. For one of the birdfeeders I just got a plate at the thrift store, put it in a bag and dropped it on the ground so it would break into a bunch of pieces. Then I glued it to the top. Seriously that is all. After I glued all the pieces, I got some mortar that people use to grout tile and I just smeared it in all the crevices. Then I used a spray paint to color the base. If I ever decide to make another one, or actually redo one that is already made because it is kind of getting old and falling apart, I will definitely film that and dedicate it to you.! 👍👍👍Liz

On line dollar tree is cheaper. The tower planter is $62 cents on line shipping is cheap

i hope people realize you can save the heads of your marigolds which contains about 50 seeds...i have hundreds from last year saved for this year i just throw them in a pot, don't even cover them and they come up!! i have that black hat i love it!!

YES I agree and ALWAYS save the dead flower heads from marigolds and so many more flowers!!!! i get TONS of seeds that way and throw them in other places in my garden! We have several Dollar Tree stores in our vicinity (East SF Bay area). Easily within 10 minute driving distance. I have visited all of them in the past couple of weeks and am very disappointed to see that they have significantly scaled back the garden section with not nearly as many items available. Wondering if anyone else has noticed this.
That is very interesting! I noticed that my Dollar Tree has scaled down on the garden stuff right now too. Do you think that is because Spring is over??? Im thinking that maybe they only focus on garden stuff during Spring. 🫤Liz
@GardenHappy I couldn't say definitively but it seems like the garden stuff was available well into summer last year. The stores here had at least half an aisle for garden stuff. In particular I am disappointed to not be able to find the thin metal wire stakes that have various flowers, hummingbirds, bees, lady bugs, etc. We bought some last year without really thinking about what we were going to do with them. I put up a new back fence this year and decided to decorate it by making a whimsical display with all of the characters. Alas! We don't have nearly enough to cover the fence. I can find similar ones elsewhere but have a hard time mentally paying more than $1.25 for each of them. Anyway, thanks for replying.
Yes you are absolutely right those metal stakes with the decorations usually are sold throughout the year. I have an idea why don’t you try going on the dollar tree website they have an online store, just a thought.
