@@95ville95 Yeah, you basically select a playable character from the game, so your created character can have his moves and yeah you can use it online

Man seeing that Nightmare vs Siegfried part of the video. Made me remember why I love the series so much. A clash of good and evil or 2 sides of the same coin. But I also love how Nightmare wants to avenge his father when fighting Siegfried.
Sigfried's psychosis is way better done than Tira's.

Actually, the flames are from the fragments of Soul Edge imbedded in his arm.
Real talk, Soul Calibur is probably the most accessible fighting game franchises out there. Since it dosen't focus on big long combos and it's more about precise hits and movement. I really want this one to be a success :0
@hehabomba that's exactly what makes it so accessible. Anybody can pick up a controller and have fun because it's more about anticipation and than technical execution.
Man I hope this game does great. Love the beta. I just hope the game is successful bc this may be the last SoulCalibur.

I don't know what it is about Nightmare in general but me and my friends used to do nightmare v nightmare matches that all played out similarly and were extremely intense
When I see Max post a Soul Calibur video, I like.
When I see Max live stream a Soul Calibur game on twitch, I like...twice.

In Soul Edge, you could choose the win pose by holding a direction at the end of the fight

Was I the only one that in the Tira Match, when she had his back, expected him to pirouette switch to his sword on back stance and then do the Vertical strike to hit her whilst having his back turned to her?
So 3 mirror matches and a Tira, always fun to see. You put Seer's Siegfried to shame, but i mean his Siegfried was really bad, so much for maining him.
Nightmare looks pretty ridiculous in this game. I really need to take the time to learn the movesets this time around. The last time I mastered a character was Ivy in Soul Calibur II.

Danm, wish there was a really good game, maybe an MMORPG (but that's asking too much) that you could explore some of those awesome scenarios of the Soul Calibur games. Just look at the Siegfried vs Tira stage at around 20:00, that looks beautiful.
There was a Wii game that was kinda like that. It was called Soulcalibur Legends
I dig an unarmored Siegried. Like have some cooler clothes, but keep the scarf and some shoulder things and he'd look super awesome. I mean he also looks great in his armor too, but unarmored looked really good.

Yea he seems like a buffed version of his SC5 counterpart (which was already decent). I can tell the first nightmare in this video mained Nightmare in SC5. He used every pubstompy move they used to use in SC5 online lol.

That's why I want Setsuka. She had Alpha Patrokalos' fighting style before him.
Hitting his just inputs was so fucking satisfying. I'm upset that there's not a heavily technical character like him in this game. Maybe Groh but he seems more technical by his stances than by input difficulty. That's what turned me off of Tira in SCV because I didn't want to learn combos specific to jolly stance and shit, just like I don't want to learn split sword combos.
Give me that double JFT any day, I want Setsuka so bad.

Regarding Nightmares throwing out their critical edge, I was able to fully charge it so many times during the beta, it was so funny. Though people will get around it so I want to enjoy that while it lasts lmfao.

So can someone explain to me how Seigfried and Nightmare can exist independently at the same time, even though in this game (like in the first two Soul Calibur games) Seigfried is being possessed by Soul Edge? Is it for player convenience? As in, both characters are available for players to use, but not canon? Or, am I missing something? I'm REALLY hype for this game (especially since I'm getting it as an early birthday present *shrieks*) but I'm just slightly confused about why Seigfried is even usable at the moment. I assumed it would like Soul Calibur II.
