This is a great reminder that we don’t need every category of makeup in our collections. I too rarely reach for eye shadow and have learned that I prefer my collection without it. This was after years of beauty influencing that convinced me to buy eyeshadow pallets that sadly would never be loved the way they should be. Makeup is supposed to be fun and enjoyable for you. If you don’t reach for it, don’t continue to buy it!
So true! We really don't need every category of makeup, I also prefer my collection that has hardly any eyeshadow. If you want eyeshadow, a bit of powder bronzer or blusher usually does the trick :) Thanks for your comment!
Your declutters remind me that the makeup I wear should be the best suited for me. I have a few items I haven’t used in a while that grabbed from the back of the drawer while watching. I need to determine why I’m not using them. Thank you.

I have only decluttered a small 5 pan Sephora eyeshadow palette. I had used 3 of the colours up had no interest in finishing the last 2 shades. I disliked the formula too. Their single shadows however are lovely and going forward I think all I want is 2 or 3 single neutral shadows to mix and match.
I have managed to found a way to apply the brown liquid liner I am not a fan of so will use that until it expires - if it had been longer than a month I would have decluttered that too.
I suspect some of my lipsticks may turn over the summer but they are checked at the end of each month and at the moment all are fine. I maybe in the position to only pan nail polishes, lipstick, blush, beauty products and perfume next year. But we shall see.
Well done with finishing the eyeshadows! I agree about wanting only 2 or 3 neutral shadows in the future, no more palettes for me.
Yes, whenever you look at something and think: I don't want it, it shouldn't be there and taking up space no matter the reason. Or you find a way of using them differently or for another purpuse.

I think if it’s something you don’t use at all or not often enough it’s absolutely fine to declutter them. I definitely made the mistake of getting too many eyeshadow palettes at once last year and I do absolutely regret some of them. I am still unsure whether to keep all of them or to at least sell the ones I never used but then the ones I have never used are actually the ones that in my opinion have a lot of shades that I will use. I have set myself a rule now if I don’t use everything that is in a palette I cannot buy it. But yeah. My favourite palettes are the nars Laguna , Fenty sunstalkr, Vieve Terra, Colourpop Nude mood and Colourpop The feels. And I think once I have tried them the CP sandstone and limoncello as well for the summer. But I honestly could do without the other Colourpop palettes I still have. The bare necessities sounded like a must have once I had it yea the formula is great but most shades are just too cool on me or just look like a setting shade 🤣 we will see what I end up doing with them. I don’t think I am ready yet to declutter them. Once we have moved and I will have seen sunny weather compared to this UK weather I will be tanned again and then things might look different. Although I am someone who on a daily basis just loves a bronzed look.
The eye and lip colors called “neutral” can certainly be misleading. I have seen it go the other way too with a “neutral” looking orange on a cool toned person. Thanks for reminding us to get rid of things that don’t work 👍🏻
I totally agree! Neutral on it's own doesn't really mean anything and I've learnt to stay away from makeup labelled that. I need warmth!
I agree, as warm autumn I need my makeup to be really warm. Not orange necessary, but a neutral shade will pull too cool on me. The Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk lipstick is a great example. People are saying how universal it is, but on me it looks like I'm freezing and have blue lips. But then again, I don't know if it's cool enough for a truly cool season, like cool summer, because it's not completely cool.
I've never tried the CT lipstick but always thought it was cool toned! I doubt anything can be truly universal.
