What hamza said about picking your sport instead of trying different ones at the same time is actually something I did three months ago and it has really helped me become better. Sometimes it can be good to do different things to find out what you like. For example did bodybuilding and basketball at the same time. I felt like I had to do that to find out what I really wanted and that is basketball. so I changed my workouts to focus on the areas that gain strength on the court. And my progress has been amazing. I used to have a bit of a hard time dunking even though I’m 6’4. I can do it easily now because I focused on the right exercises. Keep at it kings. try different stuff if you feel like you need to.

I am 178cm tall, 6 years ago I weighed 50kg. Which is absurd, no muscle. Now I'm 73kg and I recently switched to calisthenics. I went to the gym before that. I got amazing results in the gym but decided I want to get rid of muscle imbalances. They weren't that bad, but I wanted to have a perfectly balanced muscles. And what I found out is that my muscles are growing more than when I went to the gym. I recently broke my PR, it was 18 pull-ups in a row. You can also progressive overload in calisthenics by having a weight vest on. So you can also build some extra muscle as long as you keep adding weight. Calisthenics also opens a path to new tricks like muscle ups or handstand push-ups etc. That are really cool and you can get a lot of attention by doing those

@@SB_1357agreed about the diminishing returns. 8sets is the sweet spot. If you train with the right weight, 4-8sets per group is all you really need. I put on my first 40lbs with that exact method alone. No need to overcomplicate anything. The basics work.

@@overpoweredshotsif youre doing that normal sets and reps style thats alot of unnecessary time in the gym.
you can do that very same ammount of sets in half the time more efficiently with a circuit style calisthenics workout. Eg 5 chest excercises x 4rounds. And just add weight/reps for progresive overload. It works great.
But i think for most people just doing normal sets & reps with heavy weights (4-8 sets/ 8-12 reps) is simpler and more effective for beginners, as theres less barrier for entry this way.
Anyways keep up the good work.

im 14 and i’ve already built quite an aesthetic physique but i always trained at home with my 2 dumbells and now i live in a really small town in Arizona named Valle Vista, and the nearest gym from me is Planet Fitness and its 30 minutes away. All my friends are kind of just dorks and never wanna train with me so i’ve kinda been stuck since i started lacking motivation as i’m already bigger than everyone at my school.
