- BorgWarner - leaders in OEM turbochargers, with innovative technology and world class proven results in small engine multiple turbo stages minimising lag and providing superior performance for a wider RPM range. I made this video using an animation of the BorgWarner Staged turbocharger and slowed it down to illustrate the technology, stage, and gas path -

An impressive looking piece of engineering.
good work
Thank you !
Simultaneously series and parallel?
i have a deep fascination toward this type of turbo set up on diesels, i also like the intregration of the electric turbo on some audi/porsches , and volvo's power pulse...do you have any idea what pressure ratio they are running?i do believe that the R2S Runs a LP and a HP turbo but from what i understand from the video the LP turbo does become a HP turbo on the upper range of the rpm right?
It's very good animation. I have a question: what is purpose of valve opening (closing?) on bigger turbo at the very end? Thanks!
Are you referring to the compressor or turbine stage?
Turbine second stage. And there is another one in inlet manifold@@TurboDirectSA
@@romanjanke5923 this is the turbine merge - the two turbochargers get to a point where they work at the same time , the valve on the compressor outlet merges the two turbochargers flow together.
Hi, can an this be installed in my VW Sharan 2.0 TDI 85kW 2012.?
@@nikolaradic6304 unfortunately not - no electronics will be compatible, EXU, injectors, etc are not compatible
when VW has 6 in line engines?
Looks more like a BMW sequencial compound turbo system then a VW
Nope 100% VW Bi-turbo appears on the Amarok 132KW using R2S turbo.
But that engine on the video is an inline 6..... Amarok are V6...???
@@TurboDirectSA ah ok , i understand now, the R2S turbo system is develop by borg warner and not vw or bmw
It look like the twin turbo system on BMW straight 6 diesel engines. VW has no straigt 6 engines in passenger cars
This is not a 4cylinder engine its the 4cylinder diesel from VW.
Nothing new i am afraid
@@TurboDirectSA that would be interesting...
