But real key this has always been the case since the m1 air. It was alot of the good features of the 11in pro, minus some high end features like lidar promotion quad speakers and face id.
But its features most regular ppl wont notice/know about and are good compromises for $500ish ipad.

I still have the 11” M1 ipad pro. Bought it a few months before the M2 version was announced. I see no need to upgrade. The M3 ipad pro really has to wow me to consider buying it.

Will the iPad Air 6 have Apple Pencil Hover support? What about the iPad Air 5 "wobbly" screen? I'm an artist, these and the screen size are the defining points for me
I mostly just use my iPad to read sheet music so the 12.9 Air is perfect for me.

I just bought the M2 iPad Pro because it’s like in between the new iPad Air 6 and the new M3 Pro. $800 is worth it for all the same features as the air plus ProMotion & Face ID while not paying $1000+ dollars on the M3 Pro

I was hoping the bigger iPads Pros would get 4TB to 8TB, The mini should've got an M3 chip too with 512 or 1TB I think that would be enough. Hell i'd just put a 1TB and 2TB for them and be done for 3/4 years everyone would be happy.

I have an M1 MacBook Pro with 16GB of memory and 512GB of storage. I Think the speakers would be better on my current Mac and the screen would be better, any point in upgrading as all I really do on it is watch movies and mess about with photos

Correction, the bigger iPad Air will probably be 12.8 inches with slightly thicker bezels than the 12.9 inch pro if Apple continues the trend set with the 11 inch pro vs 10.9 inch air.

I just want an iPad mini because I hate my iPad Pro 12.9 M2 as a tablet lol it actually replaced my macboook with a magic keyboard! Now I need an actual tablet than I can use with my Apple Pencil more comfortably! Can't wait!

Why only old M2?

iPad is my favourite device, and putting M2 in one of them is nice, but you are still limited by the iPad OS.
Gaming on a bigger screen is nice in theory, but really uncomfortable in practice, so you need a gamepad.
And productivity tasks - you can basically do all of them on any older iPad, but maybe a fraction slower.
And for something truly demanding you are better off using a laptop or a desktop.
Not really sure who’s the target audience for this.
I personally wouldn’t be surprised if Apple goes directly to M3.

They had lower than expected M2 sales which lead to the jump to M3 Macbook pro. They still need to offload the M2 which is more easily done in an ipad air than any other product at the moment. Gives people more incentive to step up and spend the money on an Ipad Pro M3 so its pretty clear whats going to happen. I'm ready to go all in on an M3 iPad Pro as I use it for school.

So no center mounted front camera on the long side? I thought I read that was coming to all the new iPads, but apparently not. Thought it might/maybe/possibly tempt me away from my 12.9” 2020 Pro, it the M2 isn’t giving me anything I can’t run other than Final Cut which I don’t use anyway, and without the camera moving it’s not going to tempt people with existing older gen Pros (which is exactly what Apple wants I’m sure) even tho it truly is the 12.9” screen that made me splurge for this model. I think I’d be okay with switching back to finger print over facial recognition which annoys me at times, but with everything except the M2 being a downgrade, I’ll stick with this one. Maybe the OLED Pro will be enough, assuming I can even afford it, and that the camera has moved (wow, what if Apple didn’t move it on those either?). So is Apple not announcing the Pros with the Airs? I figured they’d announce the new Pros first to get as many high end sales as possible, then the Airs a little later if they didn’t just do them together (which I prefer). Great video, thanks for the heads up even if the Air is underwhelming.

They need to upgrade something else besides the processor. Give us 120hz or start at 128 GB for the $599 model. All I need is 128. 64 is useless for me and 256 is excessive for me.

The iPad Air is overpriced and almost worthless. At least not a total waste of money like the iPad Pros that are competing against cheaper yet "non pro" MacBooks that wipe the floor with the entire iPad lineup in being really powerful productivity tools and not just hard to use toys hamstrung by the abysmal OS and pro software support. I know I have both an iPad Air and an iPad Pro and all I use them for is as secondary screens for my MacBook Pro and that it. Even media consumption is an uncomfortable and unsatisfying on the iPad. People need to stop paying top dollar for these until Apple revolutionises the iPads. Its about time

@@chidorirasenganzlol you must not have an intense workflow. As an infrastructure I wouldn’t be able to run 10+ VM’s on my iPad Pro. I need my m3 max to get the work done or my work laptop hp g9. The iPad would slow down my productivity tremendously. I use it as a second screen, entertainment, and signing documents w Apple Pencil strictly. What do you do for work??

I currently write this comment on my 12.9“ M1 iPad Pro and I just ordered a new 13“ M3 MacBook Air.
Now that the 13“ MBA is on it‘s way, I‘m selling the iPad Pro since two devices with similar screen sizes are unnecessary, but I still want to have a tablet to take notes with the Apple Pencil with, so I‘m looking into the 10.9/11“ sizes of the iPad Pro and iPad Air to go along with the 13“ MBA.
Depending on what Apple will actually release in the coming weeks I will go for the Air or the Pro, the only thing that turns me off when it comes to the Air is that it doesn’t have the 120hz display my current iPad has since that would be nice when writing/taking notes with the Apple Pencil, other than that, the Air would definitely be sufficient as a glorified digital notepad and entertainment device, I don‘t need the power of the iPad Pro, especially not while also having a MacBook.
I dont get Apple on this... Putting Desktop Chips in iPads but the OS doesnt come close to Desktop experience. Die operating systems do not merge and mouse and Keyboard support just works "somehow".
800 bucks used to give you a macbook air or a windows working horse. Now you get a tablet to play smoothly free to play games with onscreen controls in crossplay wherr everyone will destroy you with console or PC 😂
