We saw Camelot on Sunday and it was spectacular! Andrew Burnap gives a perfect performance as Arthur, Phillipa Soo is wonderful and Jordon Danika sings and acts beautifully. I have seen "Camelot" on Broadway three times (Richard Burton 1980, Richard Harris and Robert Goulet), this production is the best.
I wasn't sold on Andrew Burnap but with this and the news that Sorkin is rewriting the book, he's like a perfect Sorkin protagonist. I'm getting more and more excited!
Saw him yesterday and indeed he is, his Arthur is so earnest, sweet, witty but adorably socially awkward… Gosh here is a young Jed Bartlett right there
@@05sarrie It is very hard to get Burton's performance out of my head and be objective about anyone else. I would like to hear Jordan sing this though. Soo is interesting, I heard her in the Lusty Month and that was great - in other things I was not taken with her voice, so you never know.

It sounds like Camelot is not as literally magical anymore (though it looks like it still takes place in a “far away” sort of atmosphere)…it makes me wonder what the rest of the new script will be like

This lightweight rehearsal would prevent me from paying to see this production on stage.
if this is reflective of actual stage performance, it's a complete miscast on top of being a necromancy, rather than a revival of a classic.
