    She has a lot great belts! I noticed that people on CZcams always show her fails and use that to paint a picture about her singing.

      @@joemelcruz6556 Mga bashers ni Ms. Nina ang nagpakalat nyan kasama ka na. Hanggang ngayon ay pinapakalat mo pa rin ang paninira na yan. Theres nothing wrong with her whistle on that Vision Of Love performance. As a matter of fact it was perfect. Gawin mo muna bago mo sirain ang reputasyon ng Diamond Soulsiren. Baka kahit kapiranggot eh wala kang maibuga. Ikaw ang failure kaseh hindeh mo kaya at never mong magagawa kahit kelan. What do you mean she attempted? She didn't attempt to whistle on that performance. That whistle was assigned to her becoz Kyla and the rest couldn't do it except for Ms. Nina and she had no qualms & hesitation or whatsoever of doing it becoz she knew she had the skill.

    It's crazy how Vocal CZcams cap every Filipina belters' healthy/supported notes at C5/C#5 a few years ago meanwhile all the vocal range videos you've put out so far clearly show Filipina belters are capable of much more despite the lack of formal training.

    What i really love about Ms. Nina is that she never uses middle voice & falsetto for her vocal performances. All her highnotes are of pure natural timbre even those very thin highnote sustain major sharps are of natural modal register. And most of all she is definitely unbeatable when it comes to singing cover song versions particularly upbeat songs like everytime she sings live cover songs i can always declare thats shes way better than the cover song's original singer.

    She and Kyla are opposites. While Kyla uses too much “force” with extreme tongue tension and raised larynx, Nina can use not enough force and have this hollow or unsupported sound

    Mga Panahon ni Kyla at Nina rivalry..
    Pero kong sa talent2 lang mas magaling talaga si Kyla .

    • @philruss8362
      @philruss8362 Před 2 lety +8

      Kyla's edges over Nina:
      * whispery tone (Nina also has it, but objectively, Kyla's more effortless and consistent...)
      * Runs and Riffs (Kyla is the best/ unrivaled when it comes to RnB in the Philippines; Nina is good though)
      * Scatting (Scat Singing) - Kyla sounds great doing this; Nina rarely does it
      * Low notes - Kyla's low notes are still resonant; Nina's are whispery and hardly audible
      Nina's edges over Kyla:
      * Whistle - Kyla was capable of doing it during her younger years, but now, no more; Nina's whistles maybe sometimes faulty, but still, she pioneered it locally; she's still capable of producing surprising complex whistle notes even at her present age of 40.
      * Chest voice - Nina's high notes sound fuller and more resonant. Kyla is also capable of reaching high notes, but sounds piercing and strained.
      * Middle tone - both are good, but Nina sounds chill and amazing in this range even without incorporating unnecessary melismas; Kyla, as an RnB artist, always gets tempted to do adlibs.
      * Dancing - Nina's a natural dancer. She bagged the crown in Shall We Dance Celebrity Edition; she dances from time to time in ASAP and in her concerts; Kyla tries, but looks awkward everytime.
      * Versatility - Nina's not fixated on ballad (her forte). She's also impressive singing Rock, RnB, Jazz, etc.; Kyla still sounds RNBish singing Ballads, Jazz and other genres.
      * Playing instruments - Nina plays the piano, guitar, drums, etc.
      * Acting - Nina had bit parts in movies, tv guestings, acting workshops, etc.).
      * Total entertainer - Nina's effortless in connecting with and entertaining up to the last audience of every venue she performs in. She quips funny adlibs once in a while.
      * Rapping - Nina has swag when it comes to hiphop/upbeat music. She does rap nicely; Kyla rarely tries, and sounds uneasy.
      * Nina speaks and sings Korean language/songs pretty well; Kyla hasn't tried yet.
      * Nina does her own make up. She rocks every motif/character she fronts. Kyla seems shy trying on new looks.
      So on and so forth.
      Both are talented, yet Nina has more to offer; so how is it possible that Kyla is "mas magaling", as you claim it ?

    • @ajvbautista21
      @ajvbautista21 Před 2 lety +1

      I think, si Queen RVA na lang mag judge? What do you think? Kasi sa lahat satin dito, sya ang mas may karapatan mag judge kung sino ang mas magaling sknila. Sino kaya isasagot nya? 😅

    • @philruss8362
      @philruss8362 Před 2 lety +2

      @@ajvbautista21 That would be bias since Kyla and Regine have been close to each other since SOP days. There was even this clip from a comedy show with Regine being asked that question, and she replied Kyla without giving any reason why.
      Years already passed and there are signs of wear and tear on their voices, yet Nina continues to amaze the viewers with her new tricks in the bag. As versatile as Nina is, she deftly adapts to the demands of modern music/entertainment (utilizing whistles as she used to; accessing super headvoice that she rarely did during the earlier parts of her singing career; slaying duets with other artists; rapping; dancing hiphop; singing/speaking Korean songs/language among others). Nina will always be Nina, forever fascinating and avant-garde.
