People who don't think mariah is the best has never heard her music probably. She has the best musicality when it comes to it. Minnie Ripperton definitely deserves her flowers for creating it, but Mariah also deserves her flowers for her creativeness. She can do intricate riffs and runs, manipulate the tones of her whistles to be more piercing or airy, speak in whistle register, sing in whistle register. She doesn't just use it for shock factor, it literally becomes apart of the music. Like Underneath the Stars has whistles incorporated into the melody and not in the open. Bliss is another amazing song that demonstrates her use of the whistle register.
