Ohleyaan De Aaar Paar is one of the most famous Punjabi short stories written by Jaspal Kaur. The protagonist of the story is symbolic representation of middle class married woman whose husband is on death bed.
On the one hand, she is taking care of her ill husband, assisting him in day to day activities while on the other hand she is also somewhere emotionally bent towards her old classmate and close friend who provides her an escape from the harsh realities.
This dilemma of the protagonist takes her through many emotional ups and downs. Thus, at the end she funds herself engulfed and gets drowned in her own web of emotional contradictions.
