The main theme of the story is 'the unknown quest of life'. Driven by aspirations, where every person wishes to reside in the best of the manner, this journey of life is so unimaginable that no one knows what tryst has destiny made with them.
The main character of the story symbolically represents the shallowness of modern life where a person has no control over the episodes that are happening in his/her life and yet there is no other option that to pass through them.
Guvinder's association with baldev which was utopian never gets into reality and she is forced to marry Bachittar who was a druggie. She had no option but to accept the fate as Bachittar had Canadian PR and it lured her parents.
In her whole life, she tried to satisfy others but in the end she has nothing to cherish upon. Now she is in Canada and atrocities of Bachittar are also increasing. Would she ever retaliate?
This is the question which every listener would like to enqure while listening to this tragic story...
