This is an excellent lesson!!! I have been teaching Spanish in US for the last 5.5 years and I have been introducing different methods, TPRS is very successful and it was interesting to me how you teach Spanish to Chinese students using English to check their understanding. BUENISIMO!!!!! Gracias.

    Slavegrind,
I was just in Brazil yesterday. I have been working with a school in Natal using TPRS. Their success there at a school named CEI has been incredible in just a year. I have been to Brazil 3 times in the last year. WE are excited about the potential of TPRS in Brazil. You can find our website by googling Blaine Ray. You contact me through that.

Brilliant, MAN!!!! I"m an English teacher in Brazil and I've reading as much as I can about TPRS and everything concerning Stephen Krashen's theories. I just loved the way you teach and I assure you that I'll work it out in my lessons. Regards from Brazil!

Hey, Mr Ray, this is Thiago (Slavegrind) with a new name on my account though. Up to now, TPRS has been the most effective and genuine method I've ever come across. I hope I can no longer work with textbooks, 'cause they suck and get students bored to tears. Make yourself home and be welcome whenever if you like coming by.

If all Chinese were to speak Spanish and English as well as Chinese they can do so well in the world's economy.

very nicely done. when I was in College in Germany in the 1940's this was the all the rage at the language schools. It is good to know they are still using this methodology for teaching foreign language. But I feel the teacher used too much English. I think one should only use the target language and check understanding through student response. But that is just me.

Fat Freddy This isn't actually a language class, Blaine is working with a group of language teachers, showing them how to use the TPRS method. At the beginning, he has to explain how the method works and what the students should do during the lesson.

May be hilarious, but I think that Spanish teachers must be their mother tongue.
