The Storyteller - Sci-Fi Short Film (2023)

Amidst a long-forgotten universe of dead fields and ruins, a mysterious traveller called The Storyteller journeys in pursuit of lost memories. Venturing through farmland and decay, the traveller searches for clusters of embers - souls that have been lost, and setting them free through campfire and song alike.
The Storyteller is a sci-fi short film, created as a zero-budget passion project by myself and in collaboration with some wonderful local contacts amidst my academic studies. The development of the short spanned everything from the costume design/production to the VFX and original score, capped in just a few months. I was heavily inspired by the Mobius Digital's 'Outer Wilds' for the character design and aesthetic.

I’ve been meaning to give this a watch for a while as a big fan of your artwork and I was really impressed. The music is lovely, the overall look of the film was so cool and original and I especially loved touches like the old film transitions and how at one point the Storyteller’s footprints are in time with the music. Great work all around.
