Facing a Bottom Bracket Shell - Parktool BFS -1

  • If paint is covering the face of your bottom bracket shell it's really important to remove it with a facing tool. This will prevent your bottom bracket from creaking as it allows a flush fit to the shell.
    The facing tool I use is the ParkTool BFS-1.
    I haven't written instructions for this because there are some great instructions on the @parktoolblue website 👍

      To allow the bottom bracket to sit perfectly flush with the shell, this will prevent creaks and optimize bearing life

      Park Tool® has another facer but is multitasking BTS-1. The BFS-1 (this video) allows more control because of the tension spring. It is a well made and heavy. I use mine occasionally
