    When I was younger I wanted to be a rockstar. Now that I’m older, I want to be a professional metal detectorist. I’d love to hunt for missing items, be able to return them and find some treasure for myself along the way. Best job ever!!

    That was a welcoming sight to see those (2) two young women, with inquiring minds curious about the metal detectorist winking holes in the football field! Around 22:36 they are hooked for life! Holding the pin pointer to the ground and hearing it respond! You could read the lifetime expression on their faces and in their voices: 'So cool' and then, they both looked out on the field thinking 'what is under this ground? It was admirable of them to come on your channel later and thank you!

      The Manticore has its quirks. Right now I believe it's a nice machine. I'm only pointing out ways it could be better in my eyes. Personally, I would choose the 700 over the 800. Mostly because of the better target resolution having more notches for starters.

    Parabéns pelos achados, foram muitas moedas, eu particularmente gosto muito de encontrar moedas antigas. Mal posso esperar para encontrar algumas. Também tenho o Manticore e estou gostando bastante dele, vai me fazer cavar mais fundo pelo que eu vi haha... Abraço.

    Football/sports fields can be tricky depending on how often it get reseeded or resodded. I’ve got the chance to detect a football field twice and it was incredible how deep the targets were.

    If you looking for a ring or target that not dropped to long ago ,you could reduce the power level so it only penitrates the ground about 4 or 5 inches. Just a suggestion.

    • @mowerdog
      @mowerdog  Před rokem +1

      Yes. But I'm also looking for old class rings lost since 1969 when the field was built. I actually wish I was just looking for surface targets. I mean as you'll see in upcoming videos some of my finds are 11+ inches deep. I'm getting tired of these deep holes. But I don't want to use my big shovel either.

    Nice video. Suggestion...watch your sunlight. Make sure you are not blocking the light of your camera while digging the target up.

    Sir, when talking discrimination with the Manticore your discrimination pattern is vertical. The horizontal grey area is the ferrous area. Any targets found in the grey area would give a ferrous tone (unless you have ferrous tones turned off ). This is true above and below the center line. Any targets found in the non-ferrous area ( white area on either side of the center line ) would emit a non-ferrous tone. You can adjust how much above and below the center line you would like the detector to consider a ferrous target and thus emit a ferrous tone. I believe the more area you horizontally set ferrous( make grey) has some advantages regarding depth and recovery speed but there is a trade-off in that the detector will be noisy and you might have to make some adjustments to lower the sensitivity. I was confused at first when I read the manual, but if you think about it the way I described it, it will be clearer to you. Thanks again for the video.

      What do you call it when you move your fe to accept or reject more or less iron? Discrimination? That's what I call it. I also call the totality of the screen fe/co as a discrimination pattern.

    • @DigemDeep
      @DigemDeep Před rokem

      @@mowerdog Ok, but you are not really rejecting anything. Your telling the detector to treat the area in the gray zone as ferrous instead of non-ferrous. You still get the signal and you still hear the ferrous tone. If you removed all the grey, everything the detector sees would get a non-ferrous tone. Even if you turned off ferrous tones, you would see the ferrous signals on the 2D map. What I am saying, is that the detector is still using processing time on the ferrous targets. On the other hand, if you use discrimination, the detector doesn't waste power and time trying to figure out or show you a discriminated target. It just avoids them.

      @mowerdog  Před rokem +2

      @@DigemDeep The detector actually "see's" the iron in the grayed out areas. I just ask it to not beep. I buy notching/discriminating detectors to work for me. There is no way me or anyone else is going to use a totally open screen to detect. Otherwise you can just buy a PI machine and dig everything.

    Around 17:00 you are stating they are deep: Contributable to the Manticore? Supposedly, the Manticore is gaining recognition for being most capable for depth? You stated it is like they have plowed 'most of these targets' 'are deep' 'its' almost like they have plowed everything! I have a Certificate in Horticulture; therefore, I notice the soil. That soil is ideal for plang growth. As you were stating that I had seen an earth worm. That soil would be nothing to see (6) six earth worms in each 'spade full'. It is a little cold and presumably they are deep in the ground. And, you were cleaning soft dirt from the 'beast' (as dirtfishing calls the predator 31(c). All those factors indicate to me that would be the reason those targets are 'deep'? Some have attempted to place a mathematical formulae to the depth of a target. Asserting that a coin, will descend (sink) into the ground so far 'over a certain period of time'. As with everything there are multiple factors that must be figured in. You stated 'unbelievably deep' did you notice the root system? Indiana is known (by me) for utilizing cover crop more so than most others. Annual rye grass will penetrate placing roots 40" inches deep. As you were wiping the 'beast' you were actually cleaning part of the root system stating: they are deep! The Park management and school district in that area deserve to be commended for their work. Many like myself state they would prefer to walk in cover crop knee deep; opposed to walking ankle deep in the alternative. lol Thanks for the video.

      I think they top dressed the field too. The M is deep. I'm not even trying to squeeze depth out of it on this field. However on upcoming vids I do some. I show one or two coins at 11+ inches. Stay tuned.
