      I took a used John Bunn Medical Aspirator Suction Pump Vacuum Machine and adapted it to be used as a brake bleeder. Just turn it on and watch for the bubbles to stop, and make sure to replenish the master cylinder resevoir.

    Auto bleed only gets air bubbles to migrate out of the abs module to the lines. You should still bleed the lines/calipers the traditional way after.

    Excellent video. Make sure to wear gloves as well as the safety glasses you mentioned. The vapor from brake fluid can pass through the skin.

      Thanks for sharing the information about the brake fluid. I often touch brake fluid and sometimes forget to wear project which I will not do again.

    Some notes for novices (like me!) Id be grateful if anyone could confirm or correct these points or provide any more info (especially for the third point).
    * This video pertains to removing air from the brake line (bleeding), which is more involved than simply changing the fluid.
    * If your car has ABS, but has no air in the line (from a mistake while changing fluid, or from doing work on the ABS, master cylinder etc), you do not need to activate the ABS when changing the fluid as shown here.
    * In some cars like VW, the sequence for draining out old fluid is different: front left/right then rear left/right. I read that this has to do with the location of the ABS.

    • @RANDOMFIX
      @RANDOMFIX  Před rokem +1

      Are you still looking for an answer? I bleed brakes normally the old school way if there is no air system.

      If you are doing a full brake fluid change then you should do the complete brake bleeding procedure whilst topping up the reservoir with fresh fluid. Some reservoirs are designed so you cannot simply suck fluid out from the top of it, and besides doing it that way would not constitute a full brake fluid change.
      By running the abs pump whilst opening the bleed nipples on each brake and topping up the reservoir you are ensuring fresh fluid will flow through the abs pump and relevant pipe work.

      @@blurr_blurr I do like Foxwell! I picked up a Thinkscan Plus S4, and an extesion cord so my scanner can ride in the passenger seat as I test drive the car and watch the data stream! Cost me about $135, but it has already paid for itself on my wife's 2015 Dodge Charger, so it was basically FREE!! Even I can afford FREE!

    This is very confusing. It says in the title it is a one person brake fluid flush job, but you used two people. The second person is sitting pumping the brakes while you are running around opening and closing the brake fluid line and checking the reservoir and doing your best to teach. You do not show how to operate the scan tool or how to do this as one person. It was very hard to follow and choppy rather than one fluid step by step process. Seems like you’re attempting to make it an efficient video. However, it left it more confusing using a second person.
    I can tell you know what you are doing but I don’t. In the future can you have the second person film and you do all the step by step work. That would have made a lot more sense.

    both wheels should be bleed at the same time so as not to load the ABS pump
    I have a delphi ds150e and it says manually bleed brake is required before this procedure
    Why

    • @RANDOMFIX
      @RANDOMFIX  Před 11 měsíci

      That’s news to me. You would need more than one person to open the valve on two different wheels at the same time. You might be right but I haven’t come across that yet.

    I never saw you bleed the left side of the vehicle; were you able to? I just purchased a $6,500 Snap On Triton D10 and throughout this process and it never goes over to the left side of the truck. I'm working with a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee. It will direct me to R/F then R/R then 'Test Complete.' I spoke with Snap On and they claim its a software problem that could takes months to resolve. If I bought the one you have here to get this job done my question is; Have you ever used this on a late model Jeep GC and were you able to bleed all for wheels?
