Sadly Gareth is great for team spirit but he's no tactician and has a habit of putting square pegs in round holes.
Bear in mind I'm Italian but Gareth lost the Euros against Italy while they were overruning our team by making defensive substitutions allowing Italy to get back in the game and win.Dont think any premiere league team will be offering him a job.

Everyone keeps saying how good England were in the first 30 mins against Serbia. The reality is Sebia sat back and allowed England space. After the goal Serbia came out to attack and then England struggled.
All the talk before the tournament was about how to break down defensive teams.
Other teams have looked at England's recent, pre-tournament games, and are taking advantage. Slow, negative.
They desperately need to up the pace. If certain players are unfit, drop them. That-s whybwe have a squad. Maybe some.later sub action if possible.

Can I just say (as a west ham fan).. for the whole season you have all been saying we should keep moyes. These england performances are exactly, EXACTLY what we've been seeing week in week out. If I was being mean I would say "Southgate got us to the first final in 30 years! be careful what you wish for!" Not trying to stir the pot, just saying... imagine you had that every week, would you keep him?
Need to play the 4-1-2-3.. give trent the ability like he had at liverpool to run up the wing and play into midfield.. rice needs to be like a fabinho or fernandinho type of cdm and help the back two when ever trent or trippier go forward so you have a 2 stable at back from counter attacks until wingbacks get back... and we need players who can make runs into the box and past the others teams defenders.. harry kane cant even run and is useless unless hes getting balls into the box from the wings but with southgates style of play that isnt happening

Mainoo is some player. Potentially the only England player who can pick the ball up in front of the defence with his back to goal and then charge forwards with it and start attacks. You clearly know nothing. Gallagher on the other had provides nothing.
Southgate needs to drop himself as head coach, bring in an emergency coach to complete the Euros, Jurgen Klopp is free right now !
Besides getting the manager changed, the players must change their mentality. Believe in your own ability and play with guts, even arrogance. For the record, Southgate is England's second most successful manager after Sir Alf Ramsey. England always have a reasonable squad (at worst) and sometimes an excellent squad, but despite various golden generations over the years, between World Cups and Euros England have only got as far as the semis six times, and only twice out of those six have they got to the final. Ransey has one semi and one final, so does Southgate, Robson and Venables have one semi each. People are disappointed because England haven't won a tournament under Southgate. The reason they're disappointed is because England have come close, because they COULD have won under Soutjgate, especially against Italy, but it's Southgate who has got them close - and it isn't normal for them to get close. Having said that, his comment about Phillips is bs imo. If he's worried about replacing Phillips then he should repkace him with Bellingham, Gallagher, Mainoo or Wharton. Don't replace him with Trent and rhen bemoan the fact that you're missing him.

6 - Harry's bad pass to give goal away was due to a tired brain & body. GS may have to limit him to 30-60 mins a game as he is giving GS the same problem that unfit Jimmy Greaves gave Sir Alf in 1966.
Greaves was Englands most clinical finisher & has a better goal per game ratio than Kane, Owen, Shearer & Lineker. Subs were not allowed in 1966 so Sir Alf had to drop Greaves. GS does not need to do that.
7 - Gordon & Palmer have been on 🔥, just like Sir Geoff Hurst was in 1966. As per top pundits Souness & Carra & Shearer.

Kane's is coming deep for the ball because there are no crosses coming into the box. There needs to be a recognized left winger, perhaps Gordon. Trippier must overlap or underlap the winger just to give the opposing defence problems. Trent isn't winning the ball back or running the game. Surely Southgate can see that. Are they rehearsing the forward pressing on the training ground?
