Based off ten pin toolkit your 10lb straight throw was 32.3 mph off the hand. Your 10lb strike ball was 19.8 off the hand with 600 rpm even.
Love the video. My wife throws a 12 lb. ball and does not understand why she has poor carry on pocket hits. Now she knows why. Thanks
I roll 13# and my teammates can’t understand why I average 210, 207 and 215 in 3 different houses. Especially since they don’t average that with a 15# ball. 😂
I think it’s nice that they made it in 10lbs for the reason of charity. It also helps those who can’t throw 15 lbs to be able to throw a ball like the pros do. I think they should do this more often.
It’s crazy to see a 10 pound ball that isn’t just a house ball.
Great video. You could really see the difference in ball reaction. The ball deflection is really noticeable.
Wicked fun video! Nice to see how the static weight helps carry the ball through the pins and that speed doesn't necessarily help.
Another fun video to watch. Thanks for doing them and keep them coming. Very entertaining
Enjoyed the video. Good luck to you and Chris this upcoming season
Beautiful ball, the duo have that perfect mix of colors that you can see down the lane. I think is an underrated ball. Love to have it in my collection!
Great and entertaining video!
Good to see the same ball in different pounds to let us see the difference in reaction.
It was very interesting to see how the 10lb just bounced around the pins. Really enjoyed the line, "I don't know what I did but I did it". That's my every "good" throw. lol
(60FPS) You were right about the 100 rpm difference between balls. 15lbs, 514 RPM (avg 1 rotation in 7 frames). 10lbs, 600 RPM (avg 1 rotation in 6 frames). Your last shot was 27.8 MPH (22 frames foul line to arrows).
Great vid. So interesting to see the difference between the weights
Been getting into bowling for last 2 years. Started with a 10lb and have worked my way up to 14. I’ve always use the physics equation F = m * a. I know what I can throw the 10 the fastest, but if I can constant control the 14, force will be way higher to do destruction
I'm going to send this to my wife as evidence why she needs a heavier ball.
Light bowling balls are so much fun to throw. Great video.
Every video that you make is awesome. I have been watching you and your brother for a little bit now. And it has made me a better bowler raising my average from 190s to my highest of 223.
Great video but I have to say thanks a lot!!
I have been trying to get my wife to move up to a heavier ball. So we watch your video so I can show her how much better a heavier ball is. And you strike the same amount and threw a big 4 with the 15lb!!! 😂😂😂
Now I'm never going to get her out of a 11lb ball! LoL 🤣🤣🤣
Just want to say I love both you and your brothers video's! Keep up the good work and good luck on the upcoming season!
Nice balls, I like the green and black combo.
Both look cool going down the lane.
Definitely some entertaining content Mikey. The thing I got from this one was that the ball motion was nearly the same with the weight differences. From reading the comments so far, it appears lower weight balls are used more for comfort level for the bowler than trying to get higher scores. I like my Duo. Like ither balls, it is good until it isn't. 😊
Great video! I model my game of you so I love watching keep it up man!
Great video concept, fun to watch!
The ball deflection is definitely noticeable with the ten pound ball. It is also really easy to overthrow a 10 pound ball. I can't even roll a fourteen pound ball without over powering the ball.
Love the videos keep it up ❤
Nice video, definitely got me thinking I should increase my standard ball weight.
It’s awesome that they are giving back to big brothers and big sisters with that ball. You should have had little man push it down a ramp to see if he could strike with the 10 ponder lol.
Love to see the comparison on lanes that you’d find ideal for the ball. It would be interesting if there were more optimal conditions in which the 10# might actually have an advantage. Doubtful, but still! Haha
great video, funny how the guy bowling on 32 just up and left with the 3 pins still up
I didn't know that the duo was available in 10lbs. younger bowlers can start bowling with a more high performance ball earlier and may get better faster than back when i was bowling juniors.
I learned that this was hilarious and more vids need to be like this lol 👍
This was so fun to watch!
Love these videos. Keep it up.
This was a fun video to watch. The difference is definitely noticeable.
10 on the effort lol
Awesome video man
That 10lb deflection is brutal lol
Im trying to get back into bowling after being out for about 5 years. This sounds like a great ball to start with and i'd love to win it.
I think it is a pretty good ball. I picked one up for my wife on a Cyber Monday deal for a good price. I don't think you could go wrong with a DUO
Very cool! Breezy!
Obvious difference there. Looks like fun, Mikey!
lol at the end lookin like Osku
Mikey can you do a video with 12lb balls plz I'm bout to drop down to 12 so I want to see if it works for you
Heater throw 🔥
Hey Mikey I thought it was interesting seeing the difference in carry between 10 and 15 pounds. Back in may I got sent a free duo by storm but I still haven’t gotten it drilled.
I average 182 with my 12lb surge and a 257 high...have a new 14lb revenant with a 164 avg and 209 high, but I've only had it for 2 weeks...the difference is astonishing
I use a 12lb Beast for initial warmups and when I am working on drills. It is a great ball to warm up with and get loose. It is also a great ball for working on drills and release and things. I actually threw a crazy game this year during a practice session .. 8/ 9/ 9/ 9/ 9/ 9/ 9/ 9/ 9/ 9/9 .. I printed and frame the score and put on my wall. I don't think I could do it again. All of my other regular balls are 14lb .. which seems about perfect for me as I am a bit older (61).
Interesting analysis
You could crush a strike with a 6lb ball! I like these weight difference reviews keep it up!!
Hey, Mikey! Another fun video! I'd love to win the 10lb Duo for my wife so we can bowl more together. She struggles to throw anything heavier than 10lbs due to car accidents, but also struggles to find house balls with finger holes appropriately sized at that weight. I think this would be perfect for her!
Cheers!
Fun to watch and your commentary was pretty funny too. You’re right, I learned nothing😂
Cool. Would be a nice gift for the young one
Great video, big difference is ball weights and speeds
Very interesting and fun!
Hahaha .. I just bought this exact ball for my wife .. 10lb .. she loves it .. she is doing very well with it.
10 lb Duo? My league teammate/coworker would love that for her first ball!
My wife throws 10lb balls. I just bought this exact ball for her on a Cyber Monday deal .. she is loving it.
Good video. I recently dropped from 16 to 14 since i was feeling some pain in my elbow with the heavier ball. I haven't noticed a difference in performance and even shot my best game with the lighrr ball. But there is a limit to how much carry you get with the ligher balls.
Wow Michael! This was a very interesting comparison. A 10 pound duo Nice to know that 10 pounder is available in the Duo. The impact of speed, and the importance of bowling with the same weight balls.
Many senior bowlers are moving down in bowling ball weight. My bestest bowling buddy Gail, recently returned to vmbowling after a ten year break.uses
a 10 pound plastic ball and averages 155- 160. Unfortunately, making adjusts with a plastic ball can be untenable. Mostly, she rolls it left or right of the middle arrow.
If I were to win this ball I would give it Gail. I think it would be a fantastic option to give more adjustment options when oil conditions change. If she thinks the 10 pound Duo is too far on the wild side for her 😂 she'll donate it to a local youth bowling club in the name of TV Bowling Supply.
Thanks Michael
I love holiday lanes, I've only bowled on the GSX side though lol
That 10lb ball HOOKS 😂😂😂
Greeting from DHague and good luck for the upcoming PBA season! Keep up the nice work on CZcams : )
Big Brothers Big Sisters is a great non profit effort! Great video.
I've got a six pound Mix that I used in a tournament this past summer. I can average right around 150 with it. No thumb. But.. you have to play down the lane from the outside if you want to carry. Throwing that much across the lane makes the ball lose all it's energy by the time you are in the pocket. Straighter is greater. I was throwing some twelve pounders at our demo day last week because I have been contemplating a move to lighter ( I currently throw 15 with thumb in) so I can experiment with no thumb. Twelve was just a bit much. Should have tried out the lightweight Duo but didn't look that hard at them to see what weights were there. I've popped a 210 with a ten pound house ball but would really need a better cover. I challenge you to try this again with much better line for the ten pound ball.
Sling it son!
I have thrown a different weight balls but for me I like a 14 the best. A 15 might get a hair more action but it’s easier to put the revs on the 14. I haven’t bowled a 300 yet but I got a 299 on a 14.
Cool video!
As a mechanic front desk and Porter at a bowling alley, I give you a 10 for effort for running down the gutter cap and then for stepping on the lane idk about that one but it's not league. So you're all good. As for laying on the lane. You could have tripped the sensor and the sweep could have came down on. You would have been all bad. Just be careful next time my guy.
Very entertaining.
Thanks for the video, I think the 10 pound will be thrown harder as it has less weight so it seems logic to me that 10 pounds should be throw slower
that deflection was wild
Interesting comparison. I have always been curious of what happens at the 13# ball weight, as that seems to be where many balls show a change in core shape compared to the 14-16# versions.
The bulk of balls weight is the core. The core has to change at 13 and under in order to reach those lighter weights.
Very entertaining video
10 lb ball go brr
Fun video!
Fun video, just glad you didn't hurt yourself making it. Lol
I went from 15lb to 12lb after the PBA - LBC tournament in Wauwatosa this summer and have nothing but more success. Honestly best bowling move I've made...
I hurt my elbow and had to drop to a 10lb ball and had a couple games in the low 200's with it. As my elbow has been getting better I have moved up to 12lb and have several games in the mid 200's. I am tempted to just stay at 12 lbs when my elbow finally heals just because I bought 7 balls at 12lb so I could build a versatile arsenal.
@@ObjectiveEthics yeah! I'm pretty sure I've left a few 5-7's and 5-10's that I "probably" wouldn't've left with a heavier ball but I very rarely leave something like that. I used my wife's Eternity when I decided to switch (I bowl no thumb / 2 handed) and my first game out of the shoot with her 12lb ball (even though fingers didn't quite fit) was 244 I was like: YEAH this'll work! Lol... what I lost in kinetic energy from the weight of the ball I made up for in ball speed, rev rate and accuracy
@@rikvonmn I agree 👍 the thing that I noticed when I used my 10lb ball was that I left a lot of 5 pins but rarely any corner pins. When I was throwing 14lb I left a lot of 10 pins and with my 12lb I am prone to leave 7 pins. I don't know enough about bowling (only been bowling for just over 1 year) to know if the ball weight is the reason for those leaves but I do know that I prefer picking up 5 pin or 7 pin spares compared to 10 pin spares. I'm 100% with 5 pins, over 95% with 7 pins and about 65% - 70% on 10 pins lol. Had a 200 in league last week with only 1 strike. I picked up all of my spares, 9 of them were 7 pins.
I always wondered if certain balls were the same as certain weights like the fate and the night road at 13lbs
Nice ball. Would be a good one.
I'd love to have this ball for my girlfriend!
Nice video brother. As a porter I would give you a 7.2 out of 10. This video does show the difference in the weight as well as the energy stored up in the balls.
heater
Force = mass x acceleration.
If you throw a 15 lb bowling ball 15 mph. You would need to throw a 10 lb ball 22 5 mph.
That 10lb ball at the end was looking like Osku going for the 10 pin.
Hey Mikey, you should do a vid of your favorite sport pattern but only using 10-13lbs bowling ball.
Where do you get a 10/11 lbs ball. Love the videos.
tang banger #2 cranking the ball even more then he does
I love my 15 lb Duo
whoosh
Zoom
Fun vid!
Fun video. 😂
I just started to get into bowling this year. Currently throwing a 10lb twist and starting to realize why now that my form and release are getting better I am struggling to get Xs. Thinking of moving up to 12lb what do you advise?
The best job I ever had was as a porter at a bowling center
Never thought 10lbs would look so good😂
I'm 64, when, after 35 years away from the game, started to roll again in Jan of this year, due to some physical limitations, I had to roll a 10lb Raw Hammer Solid. And I was quite surprised. I had to relearn everything. How to hook the ball, how many steps on the approach, timing. Everything. But, what I was not prepared for.. was how well I could strike with a 10lb ball. So, 35 years ago, I left the game with a 202 average. After bowling pretty steady for a month, I was up in the 170's, and then a few months.. 187 average. All with a 10lb ball. Caviat.. I now have more strength and can roll a 13lb ball, and my average is 197. That is only due to spare shooting. Damn 10 pin... But now and then I pull out the Raw Hammer and roll a 200+ game. The thing I found... is it needs to hit higher in the pocket to carry the 5 pin. The 5 pin was left mostly because of deflection, and high flush shots fixed that issue. Anyways, great vid. Thanks.
Just a theory but supported by physics. Speed is the #1 factor and revs #2 for why a ball that hits the pocket strikes or not. A 14lb ball will carry better than 15. How can it not when revs and speed are increased significantly? The problems with 14 are:
1. Psychologically, we are quick to blame the weak 10 on the lighter ball but give the 15lb a break as an "off hit".
2. Lighter balls are more difficult to maintain a consistent swing plane because of the "muscling" factor.
Solve 1 + 2 and your scores go up!
True! Just the difference in core dynamics adds another factor, which, depending on your needs as a bowler, could be a benefit or not to that certain bowler!
@@tvbowlingsupply Yes, but the rg's and diffs between 15 and 14 are very close. Seems like you have to get to 12 or lighter for the lightbulb weight block.
@@pappyb2073 some of our balls are 7 points different in RG, and very few go under 2.50, which is very significant especially for high level players
First strike shocked me with the 10 pounder.
My timing would be all f-ked up after that!
Ball looks good, but especially during dry conditions which is what I like, but I don’t know.
Interesting
I usually use the house 12 pounder because it has holes big enough for my fingers,,never found a 10 pound ball i could play with that holes sizes i could use,,so maybe i'll get lucky and win my own 10 pounder ...and how people bowl 4 or 5 games with 15 pounders is crazy,id have a sprained everything and sore as heck.
It's pretty
Try picking up some splits and wash outs with the 10 pound ball, might even pick up the lily.
My shoulder would love a 10 pound ball
9/10 porter skills
Question, now I'm not the strongest dude, so I usually bowl as round 11 to 12 lbs. Am I still able to get good powerful hooks with them? And recommend any company?
