This is very helpful! I wouldn't have thought to take very thin strips of wood and glue them together for the frame.

How is possible play on this? The metal hoop is redundant there. Just try it in your hands.

Hard maple and 3-ply of 2mm.

How did you form the metal rings?

Stainless steel ring was cut by laser machine and bent, welded. All process was done at each specialized company.
