    Project description
    My most requested video. This was a one hour sculpture edited to a half hour video. Feel free to sculpt along!
    There is a great Proko CZcams video that goes over the structure of the eye that will be helpful to watch before doing the assignment. Link ( • How to Draw Eyes - Str... ) this video is on drawing the eye but many of the principles will apply to sculpture as well.
    I have provided photo references of my own eye that I’ll use. You can use my reference photos or use mirrors to sculpt your own eye.
    Once you’ve finished the assignment share it on Instagram with the hashtag #ajkpatreonsculpt and DM me the post for a chance to be featured in my Instagram stories.

    Your videos are so clean and simple, there’s no shitty background music, no fake youtuber voice, just you teaching us the viewers how to do shit like a normal person, that’s why I’m subbing to your channel

      Couldn't agree more - especially the lack of music. Even pleasant music is distracting, if there's a commentary and you're trying to learn something.

    Hey how are you? I love your Proko sculpture channel and I have a question . What if I want to make fictional characters into real life sculptures ? How would I capture the angles . Would I have to use different references ?

    • @AndrewJosephKeith
      @AndrewJosephKeith  Před 6 měsíci +1

      Depends on the character and how they are represented. The main thing is getting many references of the character from all angles you can (which can be tricky). Are you thinking cartoonish characters or realistic characters?

    • @Earthlover7373
      @Earthlover7373 Před 6 měsíci

      @@AndrewJosephKeith I’m thinking turininf the fictional form into realistic human form. An example is let’s say Finn from adventure time

    WHY do you exaggerate the eye lid thickness more?
    perhaps the classical sculptures were after that...God like, over worldly look, like for example in ancient Rome Emporor's were depicted with no bridge to their noses, as a matter of importance.
    But I don't see the need with modern portrait sculpture, it can sometimes look goggle eyed looking.

  • @bleh2590

    Honestly is better to invest in professional materials so you are practicing with the actual tools you will be using for probably the rest of your life. those wax sculpting tools are the best I ever had and currently I cant afford to get them and is not the same, they make things mucg easier,

    • @AndrewJosephKeith
      @AndrewJosephKeith  Před 5 měsíci

      I think if you can afford professional grade materials and tools then go ahead! I just know that many people feel they must get the professional stuff when in reality they just need practice and starting with whatever is available is better than not starting at all.
