Zverev deserved that tonight. In the middle of the third set he was at 85% on first serves which is an insane stat. He didn't really give Alcaraz a chance to get into the match for a long time. Gonna be a great match against Medvedev, two competitive semi finals to look forward to.
Yes, but Alcaraz played really bad (many unforced errors, bad first serves, ...)
@@castorix31both things are true, but Zverev put Alcaraz under big pressure those first two sets so he probably forced the errors. Maybe Alcaraz should have tried to stay in the rallies a little longer rather than going for too many winners, but in all honesty Zverev didn't let him get a look at a second serve for nearly 3 sets.
Unfortunately, he was chocked at 5-2 on 3rd set but ended up 6-7. Fortunately, he didn't disappoint me on 4th set. Anyway, thanks from djokovic cuz zverev has helped djokovic extend his world no. 1 while alcaraz can't take over djokovic's spot cuz it's been alcaraz's turn to defend so many points until french open 2024
@@castorix31that’s tennis. If you don’t bring your best game, you lose. It’s really unintelligent to say, “he didn’t play his best”. Well, duh!
Medvedev will win
Zverev fought against all odds. Not one analyst gave him even a set and humiliated him, but he had the last laugh.
the underdog, thats what they called him. Well done Alexander!
Are u sure? Cause when Alcaraz was interviewed he was asked about versing someone who he’s struggled against
Amen. He is one of my favorites player after the king of tennis.
Ugly boy Carlos is difficult to watch, I cannot understand why people like him with these sounds.
I'm surprised they were doing that. Because I knew it could go anyway. Zverev has been serving amazingly. I'm happy he won. Alcaraz is young and needs to find a way outside being happy on the court because it won't always go that way. He needs to find his precision and tactics even when he's not happy
It indeed was one of the best matches I've ever seen Zverev play.
He really was great today 🎉😌
both his serve and groundies pushed alcaraz back. amazing stuff
It Is Always Smart To Get The Crowd On Your Side With Compliments.
Before having nearly devastating injury in 2022 FO, Zverev couldn’t present sufficient patience, concentration, and even the maturity on the court. But after this, we already found this previous prodigy gradually practice his talent and become the authentic world class
His mental toughness right now is crazy good!
Wow. Really, Type 1 diabetes is not a joke, I really admire him for where he is and what he's doing. Respect!
Thanks for sharing, had no idea! Remarkable example and inspiration to the T1D community
So true, its extra grit
To be in the ATP let alone top 10 is ridiculous with T1D
Zverev has Russian last name which translates to "Beast". He was a true beast today!
He is russian,just represents germany
Hi is russian.
@@user-zc7dc9ky1g🤡
@@user-zc7dc9ky1gHe's not mate. He's born in Hamburg and lived there his main live before moving over to Monte Carlo as most players from Europe do.
@@memphis_ut he is russian blood.
Incredible performance.
This is insane! How people bet on Carlos over Zverev and he manages to won it even with less expectations.
5:3 for Zverev now in head2head 👍💪
I’m so happy for his win! 😊
Zverev terminates the Spain crowd 😂😂
And bankrupts the foolish betters. That'll learn ya!
but they still congratulated him
So cool.
Why say that …they are one of the most generous crowds there are.!
@@juliaclarke2978 You clearly didn't watch the full match. The most biased crowds were D Minor vs Ruby & Carlost vs Zverev. It still didn't work.
I am excited for your win Zverev, you deserve today's win
I’ve been following you since the beginnings. You deserve a Grand Slam more than anybody there. As an Italian, and a Jannik fan, but also as your fan, you deserve to win a Slam, because you’ve fight SO MUCH to be there. Congratulations, Sascha.
No one believes you’re a Jannik fan
I don’t care what you believe my boy. I’m just sharing my opinion.. Stay on your lane @@ellobo4290
I'm happy for Sacsha . He was fabulous today. Don't know why no was giving him any chance of winning today .
Congrats Sacha i was in front of u when u was injured in roland i am so happy for u
He won his own mind game, which is impressive! The crowd was cheering alcaraz. That wasn't easy mentally but he shut their mouth and that was great. Really nice win.
Why hate on the crowd when he’s praising them in the video? There was likely more Spanish fans than Germans, but people like both players
Sad for Alcaraz but i'm happy for Zverev, he can play really good and he deserve to win one slam (or more) minimum in his career
So the Australian open media edited out the chat free free Palestine just before the interview. Talk about freedom of speech from the so call progressive country.
@@thabangaugustinehlalele What a terrible take. Palestine has nothing to do with the AO so why would the AO media include it in one of their interviews? If someone yelled discriminatory slurs before the interview, would you still suggest the AO media keep it in? If not, you've contradicted yourself because that's "limiting freedom of speech." Grow up.
But, i'm glad cuz alcaraz won't take over djokovic's position next week until french open 2024 cuz djokovic has passed through his hard journey to defend many points of champion of both adelaide 250 and australia open. Now it's alacaraz's turn to defend many points next week until french open 2024
@@AD-nq2nz the chant free Palestine is not a discriminatory slur. It is a phrase used to show solidarity with oppressed people of Palestine. So your little analogy is flawed. Palestine has little to do with a lot of things. In case it flew over your head they live under apartheid and blockade. My comment yes reference Palestine but that is just an inside incident the crust of the matter is free speech. Which when convenient the western society will champion but when it is not, the very western society will remind people no right is absolutely. As your unfortunate comment proves.😉
@@thabangaugustinehlalelethe area actually belongs to the Jews. Palestinians were actually just Roman settlers. And if Israel doesn't defeat these religious terrorists then climate change will. so there is no reason to shout free palestine
So happy for Sasha. He went through so much on and off court.
So glad Alex won. He’s a great player, hope he’s in the final. Congratulations
What a humble and decent guy
I was going for Carlos, but Im happy for Zverev (maybe even more so). He dominated that match, withstood Carlo's comback, and still kept fighting and running around the court in spite of his fatigue and blisters. Then he rocks up to give another great interview, like he always does. Congratulations Sascha!
Spot on, couldnt have said it better myself. Alcaraz was the resounding favourite coming into the match but what Sascha served and played was unbelievable (yes carlos was maybe a bit stunned but that happens). What an effort to keep on fighting after losing that 3rd set having served for the match beforehand. Complete warrior
True,, he always gives great and natural interviews!!
I was also rooting for Carlos, but his opponent outplays him, then all the credit to Zverev. I hope Carlos gains more maturity. It seems he is more into entertaining the crowd or making spectacular plays than doing the simple boring things to win
I was vehemently rooting for zverev and a zverev win I got. Spectacular
Glad for his recovery recovery to top form since his injury. Gonna be another epic with meddy.
Congrats Sascha...
I’m glad to read well deserved praises to Zverev and not justifications of Alcaraz’s performance. Zverev did an amazing job!
I hope he wins the Australian Open, he deserves it.
Congratulations Sascha, i love how your attitude improve. Keep it up, always control your emotions when playing.
There's nothing like an NYC crowd....but he took the words out of my mouth...watching the FAA-Thiem match gave me impression that the fans in Melbourne are much more knowledgeable & appreciative of all aspects of professional tennis.
Definitely, I think Aussie Melbourne fans are very knowledgeable and truly love tennis (just repeated what you said while adding nothing haha) They make the tennis and entertainment better, electric, just tops
SO happy for Sasha..!!!
incredible play by him esp the serves..wow
Beautiful player
Zverev a largement mérité de remporter ce match , il a été le chercher malgré la déception au troisieme set en servant à 5/4 !
He is such a nice guy ❤
With all due respect to Carlos,I actually wanted zverev to win..well done zverev.
Still more to go
Very good question - and Sascha, wow, he did it against Alcaraz!!! I hope he goes through in the Semis and that he beats Djokovic in the Final, that would be amazing!!!
Sasha, All the best for you to lift your first major. Rooting for you 😍😍
Finally!
Zverev & Meddy were great in their QFs. I swear there is always drama happening at Zverev's Slam matches. USO match with Sinner, AO match with Norrie, & now the interview after his AO match with Alcaraz. He always handles it well.
Very well said Sverev ❤
We love you in Australia Sascha!

Epic match!
Just how much has this dude RUN at AO24 so far?!
Next number 2 💪🏻
Gotta love this bloke
Zverev is right yet again about the Aussie crowd - it's the best tennis crowd. It's the small number of loud bogans, hooligans, and fake tennis fans/trolls that have given the AO crowd a bad name.
Man-bun-Alex is a different kind of threat!
So happy for Zverev! He played so well for 3 sets until the 5-3 in the 3set, he should have won in 3 sets. If he plays like he played until his serve got broken he can win Australian Open. Carlos is amazing but people they have to calm down because he doesn't have a great serve and leaves him vulnerable against players like Zverev or Medved. Right now Sinner is a better plater and problem solver than Carlos who play with his heart and not much with his head.
Plus, Carlos’ coach was missing. That’s the only way he wins is to look at his box and get advice from Ferrer. If he played before coaching was allowed, he wouldn’t be as successful as he is because he’d have to figure things out himself. He’s not the sharpest tool in the shed.
Monster first Serve.
Quisiera q ganes el AO . Hincharemos x ti zascha .
Well done to get the crowd behind him at the end of the interview.
Damn what a great guy
Im rooting for Sasha. He deserves it.
❤❤
I really think they should stop asking players about their injuries during the interviews. It can give their opponents some information for their upcoming match. For example, if it’s his feet, I’d want to make him run. Right wrist? Let’s hit more forehands. Keep it quiet!
Jes,Alex.Das hast ,,Dich ,,so verdient wie keine andere:rückblick auf Deine Verletzung letztes Jahr.Du wirst das ,,GEWINNEN,,.👍👍👍
What a great quote for sacha. "Hits different" 😂
The guy played flawless tennis. Deserved the win.
Number 1 in future
Zverev is very good with is english
Aussies have Zero tennis knowledge.. they never apologised to Djokovic
they have excellent tennis knowledge and intelligence and there was nothing tennis to apologize for. Novak fans should be apologizing, and if they don't like Australia or the AO, stop attending and watching matches. But none of them are doing that (no surprises)
it doesnt have anything to do with tennis knowledge, but with character (which most of them lack)
@@imalwaysright I'm an Aussie and the average Aussie does NOT know sh*t about tennis. This tournament was probably the first time that 99% of Aussies have ever heard of Alcaraz, Sinner or Zverev. They know the Big 3 (...who doesn't), maybe Medvedev because of that 2022 final against Rafa. Add on Kyrgios, Barty and De Minaur because they're Aussies, and that's about it.
@@AD-nq2nz wut?? At least the crowd seems to very good. Maybe they are all from New Zealand?
Smh, Melbourne was good. they're great if not excellent
Good to see him back after that terrible ankle injury.
Zverev can say that mofo is effing crazy and we would still let it pass cuz he's Zverev 😂
Smart player ! He deserves so bad 👍
Саша лучший!
You beat the player who scares everybody even Novak, Now Go and Win the AO 2024
“…you start thinking.” 🎯
“I have a lot of blood under my toenails.” Also 🎯🎯
That drop shot cost Carlos the chance of 4th set….
Haha he throwin shade at NYC
Can’t blame him
Side note: does anyone think Alcaraz is even 6ft (1.83) ?! Crazy. I think he’s 181 (5’11) 🤷🏻♂️
Most happy person ryt now is ??
After his injury, it is impossible to him anymore
It's good for him to have to come back from being so close.
Big alcaraz fan....but couldnt be happier for Sascha ....
Saw that 2022 FO match against Rafa where he had even Rafa at phillipe chatrier on the ropes...and if it wasnt for the terrible fall anything could have happened....from that day to this day he has scaled new heights....
Just wish him well against meddy😊
I've got to say the Australian commentators Fitzgerald and Masur were deplorable in their bias towards Alcaraz.. It's like they were struggling to give Zverev credit for anything.. He had last laugh though.
How have Zverev and Medvedev not played each other at a slam yet? Seems unbelievable they’ve avoided each other up to now. Should be an interesting match.
The edited out the heckler in the crowd before zverv answered his first question.
Shh you kidding
Yep. Came here to see if I could hear what they said. Seems they’re deleting comments too. Shady.
Bravo SASCHA brillante 😊 APLASTADO quedó el favorito de los "periodistas" 😂😂😂😂
As a New Yorker.... I get what he's saying. Maybe better off saying "tennis etiquette," but he's amped and probably couldn't find the words. Anyways LFG, Sascha!
Melbourne has earned the 'utmost' respect I'd say. The pinnacle has been reached, Lfg for both Meddy and Z, this is a win-win situation for me. More important I think is Sinner or Djokovic, can't read that one but they usually say never underestimate Novak
Djo vs Medvedev final
Well done Alexander. Youcan surely reach the final this year. You can definitely beat Medvedev this year. All good wishes. Your Granny fan.x
Happy for this guy, he deserves at least 1 Grand Slam and the tennis he played today was impressive, I have never seen somebody defeats Alcaraz so clear like tonight.
what was that scream in the beginning of interview?!thanks. Really enjoyed the game )
I was wondering this too!
Free Palestine the guy shouted
Free Palestine 🇵🇸why did they cut it?
Too mucho errors from the side of Alcaraz was the reason for the results of the first two sets.
What about the fourth set ??
Los de ESPN antes del JUEGO decían que ya Alcaraz había ganado, que SASCHA no estaba a su nivel jajaja
As Boris Becker said: Carlos has much struggle to play Alex. Bilanz: 8 Games / 5 Siege und 3 Niederlagen.
Danieló, pensaci tu
Incredible performance. Especially when you consider that he has diabetes (type 1). Well done!
Spaniard was kind of arrogant in some statements during this tournament and he had to pay for it eventually by going home prematurely.
What did he say?
At least he doesn‘t hit women
He ate humble paella tonight.
@@squidjames7735 ..with a bitter topping flavor.
Sinner plays better than the Spanish. But the media and endorsement are boosting for their benefits. Otherwise Alka is an average player. Moreover, he strains his body too much. Long run will make risk.
Pretty ignorant take. One of them has already won 2 slams
Don't be rude. He is very good and authentic like Novak. He is not like sour loser drugdal....
@@gokulvrindavan1858 The way he plays, he may tear his body. Then he will take steroids to strengthen it. Some teens already showing their talent in AO and more competitors will rise.
It's possible, but winning the Slam is more important. Alcaraz has the slam
@@gossipboynyc9625-VN if such, then Djokovic is real GOAT. Slams, masters, number of weeks as no. 1 etc...
Don't get me wrong I've got nothing against Zverev but he was within an inch of winning that set and match but crumbled so spectacularly he almost lost the match the same thing happened at the US open final and he lost that match

Heartbreaker for me. Since my champ is out, I'll be supporting Meddy Bear to take it all.
