  • Our first 802.11ay 60 GHz (+ automatic 5 GHz failover) devices in three variations:
    a) Cube 60Pro ac - a point-to-point CPE for bridging up to 2.4 km
    b) CubeSA 60Pro ac - a sector antenna to connect multiple 60 GHz devices
    c) Wireless Wire Cube Pro - a kit of two preconfigured Cube 60Pro ac devices

    Awesome, I may have to rethink laying that fibre cable down the hill........ A great way to get internet down to a more local AP by the water.

    Still got the weird back connection, I have an nRay I installed and trusted the gland with a slight down tilt (just as you show in the video), and now it’s dead because I didn’t add additional water protection. Thank you for the pain!

    How will these compare to the nRAY product? Will there be a new long range 802.11ay DISH version? I still have the first 802.11ad LHG 60GHz Wireless Wire Dish in operation on a 1471m link. Looking forward to an 802.11ay long range Dish product!

    Can this be installed in a tilted position on a horizontal pole like the old cube? 90 degrees tilted because of the limitations of the mount.

    Great product releases. MikroTik uses mature hardware, unlike UBX......
    These have GPS capability. routerOS 7 and the new Marvell switch chips we will see more hardware...
    Once MikroTik releases new 2.5Gbe POE Switches then we will see wi-fi devices with 2.5Gbe interfaces. Walk, before you run is the mindset.....

    Performance looks good - shame about the form factor... We have about 100 w60g (x3) units that we use for temporary connectivity. They all fit in 2 hard road cases for transport.
    You say they are backwards compatible with the AD chipset (our current stations) can that be in a mixed environment? both AD and AY stations to one PTMP? Is there any performance gain/loss for using AY AP with AD stations?
    What are the chances you will bring out a 180 deg x3 antenna? I get this might make it more complex for the 5Ghz antenna but 180 is more important for us? what are the chances we could we hook this up to the old w60gx3 antenna?

    Are there going to be indoor 802.11ay devices? I was hoping for some WiGig type stuff at insane speeds.

      Indeed if Mikrotik would sell a dock + m.2 cards I'd buy it in a heartbeat. It would be sweet for docking mobile devices like gaming handhelds also. I am up and down from my desk with my laptop all the time, I love to get rid of my clunky dual USB C dock.

    CubeSA 60Pro ac beam angle only covers 60 degrees is not enough, I love the old wAP 60Gx3 AP which cover 180 degrees, but that wAP does not have 5Ghz failover, what a pity. Looking forward to CubeSA 60Prox3 ac

    Pro ay product with 1 gig port, very pro. Also from experience the cable entry arrangement not the best for wet environments many DynaDish failures with the same setup!

      Looks like I am not the only not noticing that ! They have the most awesome products, but how can this be marketed as 802.11-ay when there is zero chance of ever going above 1gbps ?

      ​@@fluppir it's not just about peak throughput - using 802.11ay means these will be able to hit the full 1Gbps over a longer distance than the 802.11ad models. I do think it's a bit stupid that these don't at least have 2.5GbE, though. Perhaps they should've been called "Cube60 LR" rather than Pro...

      @@neggles - yup - 2.5 would at least mean you could get 1gbps full duplex. I think SFP+ is just a better industry standard to comply too. I just find it weird that they are sill not adding SFP to products like these, where the technology can definitely reach at least 1.003 gbps ...

      These devices are intended to be powered over the ethernet cable, which does not work so well with fiber.

    What a shame this doesn't have the SOC from the nRay which supports 2.5Gbit Ethernet
    It seems daft to have a 802.11ay product with only 1Gigabit ports on it.
    Apart from that, this is a nice looking product !

    Hello, what is the CubeSA sector width? 60° or 180°?
    EDIT: NVM found it in brochure, Antenna Beamwidth for 60Ghz is 60°, 35° for 5ghz.

      Beamwidth is the wrong term, since this has beamforming the actual beam is not going to be 60 degrees wide.

      60GHz, of course we would not use backup frequency as the reachable distance for product as a whole

    What is Channel 5 Support? I don't understand if this is able to do 60Ghz connections to 2.4Ghz with "Channel 5" support, or that means that on the 5Ghz failover - it can go 2.4Km. You initially say that it can reach 1Km. This video is confusing and unclear. What is the sustainable distance for fast 60Ghz connections? Please make the clear.

    I guess? Still not what I want or need. I want an 802.11ay PtMP system with 2.5GB POE or 10GB POE port capable of over 1Gbps FDX throughput. I want ALL the channels in one device from 58GHz to 70GHz. I want GPS sync so I can do up to full 360 with multiple sectors and scale area wide patterns efficiently. I want channel bonding to increase throughput to 4Gbps FDX. Someone alert me when THAT platform arrives...

    Mikrotik, these don't work. We deployed 2 sectors and 12 Cube60Pro AC's at a fairground for a recent event and had nothing but problems. Constant flapping and very strange issues with bonding that rendered them nearly useless. Can you please respond in your forum and iron this out before we return the entire lot? There are a number of other folks reporting the same thing.

      @@mikrotik Lai 60 GHz iekārtas darbotos stabili arī sliktos laikapstākļos un tālās distancēs, tās ir rūpīgi jāregulē. Forumā no MikroTik puses joprojām nav precīžu norāžu pēc kā vadīties un kā regulēt šīs iekārtas.

      Tā arī nav taisnība. Šīm ierīcēm ir Beamforming, viņas labi pašas noregulē signālu uz pareizo virzienu. Jānotēmē tikai aptuveni uz īsto pusi.

      @@mikrotik Beamforming zināmā mērā spēj kompensēt uz aci (pavirši) noregulētu linku, bet līdz ko distance paliek lielāka un parādās spēcīgs lietus, sniegs, tā links sāk darboties nestabili. To pierāda mana un citu foruma biedru pieredze. Starp citu, būtu ļoti jauki, ja Jūs beidzot apkopotu un publicētu informāciju par to, kāds kurai 60 GHz iekārtai ir centra TX sektors, lai varētu sekmīgi noregulēt antenas! :)
