    Any other mobility / flexibility drills you would recommend for further advancing the dragon pistol progress?

    I am at a pistol squat level, continuous 10-15 reps per side but i feel when i try to do this first progression you are showing my quad is cramping, this is really strange because i am doing kungfu and the move is not that different from an ordinary scissor stance... any help/advice?

  • @IoniAppelberg
    @IoniAppelberg Před rokem +2

    This is excellent! Question: I literally JUST decided to learn the dragon squat. I can do about 15 pistols. When attempting this, it seems impossible to elongate the leg after I lock it in and begin to go down. And straightening it, my god no. What do I do? Will I be able to elongate the leg and eventually straighten it if I just continue doing these exercises?

    • @noiseworks
      @noiseworks Před 6 měsíci

      try practicing on a raised platform, this will provide more space to straighten the leg - and progress from there

    Great tutorial, so there’s not an amount of reps of pistols requisite but rather one controlled pistol throughout all the movement, right?

  • @qsh.xavier3112

    in the sport of wushu ( martial arts ) the dragon pistol squad we do is without the locking of legs and the leg sticking out is fully unsupported

      Wow funny cause that's how I always did my dragon squats. I only learned about the leg locking part today.

  • @I-beat-the-allegations

    With no prior training and being able do to pistol squats decently well but not good the only thing I lack is keeping one leg to the back of the other and s bit of strenght but otherwise I am litteroy doing it ( I am 12)
