“Why did he fire a blank?” Well you see Billy, we rather not have a 105mm round end up in someone’s living room a couple km’s away.

Wasnt a blank, was a small charge on the end of the barrel. There is a tank workshop video that shows them putting one on for one of these shows.

You are not far my friend. The C2 leopard is the top of the leopard 1 chain. Canada could not do better with the leopard 1 so we changed for the leopard 2 A6 witch have been ingineer by canadians with their combat experiences in Afgan.

why what different does it make?? lets say your fighting an Egypt M1a2 in a leo 1 or in a m1a2 as well..... He can beat you in 1 hit everywhere except the front turrent and even that has many weak spots... so all that extra armour gives you what exactly ? nothing... you wont sit there and take 5 hits from another tank with the latest rounds thats for sure.. and that Leo 1 gun had about 480 Pen max which is still enough easy to destroy a m1a2 at 2km in many areas not just the back or sides... Only a small area of the m1a2 actually has 1000mm plus armour

Australia had about 100 of these in the 70s,80s,90s, right up to about 2007. It replaced the centurion tank from the UK that Australia used from 50s to early 70s. We had the 1a3 and Canada had the 1a5. Still fine tank though , israel, Japan and South korea make 105mm Sabot shells with almost 500 Pen and thats enough to knock out or damage most tanks. Armour is enough why go above 30mm protection as its not worth it in my opinion you would need to make a tank 100 tonnes to be bulletproof from a 120mm sabot and then you have no mobility just look at the German Tiger 2 in ww2 and how poorly it performed
