Ah i want to go back to roots. Assassin's Creed fits perfect in a middle age middle eatsern world. I still remember OG 2007 game, best game ever with history and gameplay.
Hoping this game sells well and gets good reviews so Ubisoft realises there still are fans that want a classic AC game or at least 'non-RPG' AC game.
I prefer the other games. I dont care about the RPG elements. I want longer story with huge world and amazing views to explore. Baghdad does not seem really intriguing to me.

@@gandalfhan Well, not really. See its hard to explain. I don't like the unnesesarry content ( the bloatiness ) of the games. But I like when there is more quality content. I don't like most of the missions in Valhalla, However U love the locations in Valhalla and the various places you can go. I will give you example for a game with massive world and perfect length story line, Red Dead Redemption 2. Thats what I am talking about. And now my problem is that RDR2 at launch was 59£ and now Mirage is 50£ with the deluxe edition, and somehow considering the amount of places to explore and story line to play I somehow cannot justify paying for it. Not saying I am not going to play it. I will just buy it when the price is 20£-30£ because that is what I think the game should cost based on the size and scope of the game.

Let's not. I remember when this formula got stale as well and its open world wasn't very exciting to begin with. Just because they went worse in the meantime, doesn't make this some great redemption. I'll wait and see if it's actually good. Also, Ubisoft filled their games with microtransactions for a long time, so, they have a lot to prove before earning my support again.

I’m so excited to explore Baghdad as it was before the Mongols sacked it. Sad to lose the ability to fight with a shield, spears and other weapons, and loss of archery, but I hope they will bring back mounted combat, and just seeing the Abbasid army at the height of its power makes up for it.
Don't get me wrong, I like that they're paying tribute to the very first AC game, but I also loved being able to use a bow, shield and melee weapons like spears and axes as well. I just am glad that they finally decided not to add in two-handed weapons in this time period. That was my big gripe with Valhalla - having two-handed swords exist centuries before the development of Medieval plate armor.
Baghdad is where the world's first battery was invented, it used to be called Messepotamia, how ever you spell it!!!!
We all have things that bother us about a game but in reality every game has stuff that shouldn't be there or that are reality breaking. Kind of like assassins with unlimited grip strength, never tire, never eat. Your shadow being right in a guards face doesn't equal a detection and that's just minor stuff we put aside in most games. Every game has stuff like that.

Reminds me of some of the Aladdin games, even though I've never really had one. I used to have the very old prince of Persia game. Have you ever played age of empires? I usually play as the Turks because of the gun wielding units, they can decimate an enemy. I also like to play as the Japanese because of their string military.

So happy Assasins Creed is going back to its roots. The first game is still my favorite because of its simplistic, yet satisfying gameplay. They tried to do too much with the last few entries. This looks like a return to form.

Nah, parkour is NOT good on this one either. Literally the same as Valhalla, just a little bit sped up. I know it was first a DLC for Valhalla so they did what they could though. At least they built the around in favour of parkour.

I have a feeling playing this game will be my farewell to Assassin's Creed. It feels like it's trying to pay tribute to the roots while also trying to leave them behind, like it's waving goodbye.
I have so many fond memories of this franchise. Assassin's Creed 2 was one of the first games I truly loved. It seems like this series is moving on, and that's fine. I just don't think I'm going with it.
