ooh, would LOVE a vegan version of Kitkat. Love these so much more than Reese's..... Thanks for all your hard work! Love your videos!
Seconded, KitKat was my fave! Making those thin wafers would be painful I'm sure though.
@@ginsoakedgirl4 also kitkat bars contain reject kitkat bars so it's hard to recreate the filling.
@@hamie58 Wait whaaaaat???
I was gonna suggest Kitkat myself! And I want an actual Kitkat too, not a dang Kebbler Fudge Stick (not that those aren't delicious, but they're not kitkats). No dipping a wafer cookie into chocolate and calling it a day (which is usually what people do). I miss Kitkats. T_T I loved Reese's a lot as a kid, but before I went vegan, I loved Kitkats way more.
There's a lady in my town who makes vegan snickers, twix and pb cups. She's my new favorite person.
That Hershey factory is now a cannabis factory. You can still go and take a tour, you just see a very different product being made now 🤣
OMGs! Too funny! Now I want a cannabis Reese's! Maybe two... 😁😊
PLEASE MAKE KITKATS : ) Thank you
Reese's was my favorite, too! I found Justin's Dark chocolate on cups are a good substitute, but THESE I gotta try!
Vegan snickers would be awesome! Those were my mom and my favorite! We used to always get them when we went to the grocery store together.
Yesss vegan snickers PLEASE!
Yessss👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽
You all should try avante garde vegans-vegan snickers
@@vegetarianveganhealth7748 I didn't know he had one! I will check it out! Thanks!
@@CaliforniaHalo for sure. Oh I forgot there not called that but hold on let me look it up if you haven't found it already. I'll brb. Lol
I'm literally obsessed with Reese's so thank you🙏
Cool recipe, thanks for that! ! 🙏🏼🌷 ..Will save it to the playlist soon.⚓☀
yes! finally a video about my favorite sweets before I was vegan
I really need to make these Candace you did it again hun
I was skeptical about the nooch, but I did it, these are GREAT!
Looks good. I usually just use chunky peanut butter and grind it down a bit more to get that texture. Almond butter cups are wonderful too ❤️
My favourite chocolate candy...thank-you, thank-you, thank-you, Candice👏🤩
PLEASE MAKE THIS A SERIES!
ILOVE vegan peanut butter cups! Something that I’ve tried is melting vegan white chocolate with the semi sweet chocolate which gives you ‘milk’ chocolate....so freaking yum! 🤤 Love your videos 😊
Reese’s is my favorite 🎃💫😍👏🏼 this is the perfect vegan 🌱 version!! Looks delicious! Yum!!
Vegan bounty, that was my absolute favorite magical candy, even better than Mars dare I say!
I have a recipe for that! www.theedgyveg.com/2015/03/16/homemade-bounty-bar-recipe/
What?!! You lived close to Smith Falls! That is so cool Candace! I’m from Stittsville and we used to love going to the Hershey factory!
oh my gosh I'm SO gonna try these :D
Omgosh yes! The only way I get my chocolate fix now is thru so delicious ice cream & chocolate mochi. I'm so excited to try this recipe 😋
i used to love going to the hersheys chocolate factory in smiths falls -- you brought back so many good memories
A vegan version of coffee crisp would be amazing! 😍 Pb cups & coffee crisps were always my fav.
*goes buy dark chocolate chips to make vegan peanut butter cups for Halloween*
I already have some Kroger Simple Truth Organic chips, bought on sale for less than the ordinary ones. They are wonderful. Good luck!
Thank you so much! Stay safe as well..❤️
Thank you! You too!
I make these but with peanut flour instead of the nutritional yeast! yum
Oh man these look amazing!! Fun fact I also grew up near the Hersey chocolate factory and my family also took advantage of those “defective” chocolate 🤣. It’s now a cannabis factory that my dad did the engineer work for!!
u look so amazing and stylish, LOVE IT!!
It would be awesome to see a vegan angel food cake!!
could you PLEASE make a vegan Kinder Bueno? 🥺 they are a childhood fav
I use to Love Recess peanut butter 🥜 cups. I went to Chocolate World in Hershey PA omg 😲 soooook Good...
I never would have thought to try nooch in this! Reese’s were my favorite too and I’ve really been craving them lately. I’ve tried vegan peanut butter cups that are store bought but none of them taste right to me. Definitely going to have to try this recipe!!!
Hope you enjoy
@@EdgyVeg just made it yesterday and holy moly they tasted exactly the way I was hoping they would! I’ve also been binging your videos and have been learning so much, feeling inspired to experiment in the kitchen more. Thank you for your wonderful videos!!
Gluten free and vegan options would be amazing 😊❤️
Okay I’m SUPER late to this but almond flour instead of nooch or graham crackers! Literally PERFECTION.
I'm going to try this with sunnie seed butter, since I'd be in shock, or dead, if I ate a peanut butter cup. But I'll use your method to adapt for sunnies.
You did this 7 years ago. I went off of that one to do these, so I'll have to do this one too
Would definitely make these! looking solid!
Ps: you are in Canada and have all kinds of allergies (nut, soy. ...) or want to try smt different than the traditional peanut butter cups. I suggest trying Dwarf Stars' pumpkinseed cups. They are to die for
Kinnikinnick has vegan graham crackers and graham cracker crumbs =) Just got some for Mom so it's fresh in my mind
Also shoutout to smiths falls where I live😂 I grew up going to the Hershey’s factory too and getting the bargain chocolate #RIPhersheysinSmithsFalls
I've seen someone add peanut butter powder to the peanut butter to give it the same texture w out the nooch taste lol
Good idea! I usually add some ground flax. Gets the kids to eat more flax!
I love the mooch taste in it! It add s a buttery-ness
PEANUT BUTTER AND CHOCOLATE IS THE BEST COMBO TO HAVE HAPPENED TO MANKIND!!!
Do you remember the old adds? "YOU got chocolate in my peanut butter!" "YOU got peanut butter on my chocolate!" Then, "Two great tastes, that taste great together." Brilliant, and true.
almond joy!!!!!!!!!!
PB2 mixed with the peanut butter and sugar will give you the Reese’s texture also!
When I was little my brother had to raise money in the scouts or something and he had boxes of these things in king size. I literally ate hundreds of packages and just pretended like “oh, I dunno what happened. They must have just vanished somehow.”... not my proudest memory, but as someone equally obsessed, it’s nice to see someone appreciates the details enough to really try to recreate and capture them. Get that waxy chocolate and that over sweet, super salty granular flavor going. Recreating any fast food or snack in vegan form is an awesome and money idea imo. Also totally identify with growing up poor and the food factories being an activity. When I grew up it was the general mills cereal factory making life “interesting”... for severe lack of a better word...
I know I’m three years late, but I love this series. More copycat videos please. I’m making these Peanut Butter Cups this weekend. Thank you.
Sounds great!
Thanks! You say at the beginning to add 2 tables spoons of chocolate then a few seconds later two teaspoons.. which is it please?
Pro tip: add a bit of refined coconut oil to the chocolate to get a softer bite.
I find it melts when when you have it at room temp
@@EdgyVeg Hmmm.. good point.
@@EdgyVeg Really that's crazy I tried that actually from another recipe. That didn't happen but mine wasn't refined mine was unrefined idk if that matters
Omg these look amazing!! Definitely gonna attempt to make them myself this weekend. Hope you're doing ok with everything going on in the world atm
Hey did you make them? I'm curious how they tasted bc I find original reeses way to sweet.
I was by he jelly belly factory, and we did the same thing with the jelly flops... lol
I live for the "byyeee" at the end of your videos Lol. Could you maybe veganize Chick fil a, Wendy's and Pizza!?
Pizza Hut Pan crust, for my old fave, Cheese Lovers Plus, would be amazing.
Reese's is bae! 🎉💙
I fantasise about this one Cookie Dough Chunky KitKat I had pre-vegan 🤤.
Yum
I really miss the peppermint candy cane Hershey’s kisses. I have never seen someone attempt to veganize this🤷🏼♀️.
Aren’t most candy canes vegan? I’ve seen ones with organic sugar and natural coloring even
@@HoneyMoser Peppermint candy cane flavoured Hershey’s kisses are not vegan, I think all Hershey’s kisses have milk powder in them.
@@sarahfazan7217 ooooh, I thought you meant peppermint candy canes AND Hershey kisses. I never had a peppermint candy cane Hershey kiss :) sounds yummy! I have some silicone molds in the shape of Hershey kisses, I bet I could grind up vegan candy canes and mix with melted chocolate and make those!
A drop of peppermint oil into a batch of Veganised milk chocolate (using oat, soy, or almond milk) would make this an easy confection to mimick.
Reese’s cups chocolate is thin and very soft. I wonder if mixing in some refined coconut oil to the chocolate would help. It will make the chocolate runnier and more spreadable, and it shouldn’t get as cracking hard.
vegan mars would be amazing!!!!
Peanut butter cups are the besttt!!!!
The bowl should not touch the water in the double boiler. It over heats the chocolate
I mean it's probably true but I think she kind of got it down she probably just turned down the heat, so that thatwouldn't happen.
How can you make it (vegan) milk chocolate?
Candy scavenger hunt, GREAT idea. Thank you!
OH! And nooch! Perfect!
Enjoy!
In the US, Reese's Peanut Butter is commercially available and (while not healthy) is vegan...it would still need a texture change I think for PB cups...
You distempered the chocolate with your double-boiler. Melt it at about 30-ish Celsius, or if you've accidentally distempered it then while it's melted put in some tempered chocolate (like crushed chocolate pieces) and cool it slowly. If it's distempered, you're going to get messy fingers trying to eat it and it'll be all melty and dull looking at room temperature. When it's cooling it helps to keep the temperature around 30-ish Celsius because that gives it more chance to temper and get the harder chocolate texture most people are familiar with. The full details are a bit too sciency for a youtube comment though.
Wouldn't recommend microwaving personally, I just use a hair dryer even though it takes longer. But keep in mind that chocolate will start to burn around 90 Celsius. Of course, I'm not an expert in chocolate. I just did this exact same thing 6 months ago and happen to have a background in materials science.
As a person who routinely burnt chocolate, I thank you for your tips. Mom always said, while she was cooking, "Patience is a Virtue." I get that now. Rushed chocolate is gritty and bitter. Perhaps I need a spliff before trying, to calm my mind. Doing chocolate is like a meditation. Even done wrong, it's not bad, but done right, it's a Path to Heaven.
Oooh nice! BTW, Bulk Barn sells graham crumbs sans honey. :)
Oh boy, I just made these with the graham crumbs. AMAZING!!!! Thank you!
Oh, CANDACE.... You are now my Great Goddess of choice among the ladies and gentlemen I regularly watch. We are of one heart with Reese's. One question: Did you find Reese's Pieces as disappointing as I did, expecting them to be the same peanut butter as the cups? To me, they are just sickly sweet, with almost no chocolate aroma when breathing out ones nose, and the peanut butter is just wrong. My second and third faves were a tie for second, Peanut M&Ms, and Snickers. I learned around age 10 (1978) that nougat was just air, a way to sell less chocolate for more money, and started just buying either fudge, or Brach's chocolate covered peanuts. Then I noticed, in the early '80s, Brach's did that thing of reducing the ounces per bag while keeping the same price on the same size package! I've never quite been able to recreate either what you did here, nor the Brach's. I tend to burn my chocolate, because I'm impatient. But my fudge brownies with pecans (not walnuts) would make you wanna slap yo mama, especially when I add a tiny pinch of cayenne. Thank you so much for the effort you go to to make our world a better, brighter, tastier place between cradle and grave.
M&ms pleaaase! I grew up on those we used to put them on bagels when we wanted a desert breakfast, we used to always bring them camping as well, I miss them so much I went vegan 2 years ago and m&ms and hot Cheetos is what I miss so much😭
There are 2 brands of vegan candy that are like m&ms. I love them! One I think is Unreal and the other brand is No No’s. Both have regular and peanut, and Unreal has a quinoa crunch version too. They all hit that spot, I used to love m&ms!
had one when I was a kid, may have gotten the flu the same day and forever associated the two, haven't had one since... same thing for banana popsicles.... ick. LOL
Can you make a vegan coffee crisp please?!!!
Dang searching through all these comments I still haven't found anybody who said they tried him. I guess I'm gonna have to do that and come back and update everybody. lol.
Do you know if the Reese’s brand peanut butter is vegan? I wonder if it would have the texture or if it just has the taste. This may be research I’m willing to do. 😄😂
Hi. How are you? ~ Here in Korea, I heard it in winter. Health is always the first thing. And I hope you do good things together. ^O^
Can u veganized Almond Joy
Mine are a mess, but still taste good. I just don't have the precision to be a baker 😅.
I love peanut butter cups!
One thing I miss is Swiss cheese 🧀
Can you make that???
Yes - what is that Swiss cheese flavor? No vegan cheese has that!
@@ginsoakedgirl4 I feel like it kind of has a nutty flavor but I can't seem to get it right😒
Sauce Stache made what looks like a really good swiss cheese just recently. I'm gonna try it once I get some lactic acid (a plant based product).
My request is vegan kit kats and vegan cookie and cream bars
Twinkie or hoho next please!!!
Wow
You’re making me fat with all your delicious recipes lol
i would love a gooood vegan (glutenfree 🙊) twix.
back in the day we would go to the swimming pool every friday evening, it was "disco swimming" for kids.
afterwards i would ALWAYS, without fail, get a twix from the vending machine. i'd be standing in front of the machine, longer than anyone else, thinking about what to get.. while knowing i would still go for the twix
Did you live in Smith Falls?
Doesn't the nutritional yeast give the peanut butter a cheesy taste? Or does the powdered sugar neutralize that?
I’d imagine with peanutbutter, the more “nutty” aspect of nutritional yeast comes out!
I wonder this too, but I trust her to not lead me astray. I'm gonna try it, and worst case scenario, I have some candy that's a little cheddary. When I was lacto-ovo, I sometimes added a touch of some mild cheese to confections, such as ricotta, and it was fine. Take the leap here, and if it's horrible, you can throw it at me. 😁
Vegan 3 musketeers!!!
Vegan Whoppers would be yummy. ❤😍❤
White kitkat 🥺
What does the nutritional substitute for a non vegan one
Probably milk or egg powder
I think powdered peanut butter would give you the texture mixed with regular peanut butter 🤷♀️
I think Justin’s is a vegan brand. They have pb cups. Ultra-expensive, but still.... ❤️
Theirs are close, but miss the texture of the p.b., and their chocolate is too dark. I plan on adding a splash of oat milk, or maybe Silk Almond and Coconut milk to mine, to make milk chocolate.
maybe you can make vegan gummybears?
Watching this knowing in very Allergic to Peanuts 👁 👄 👁
Have you ever had (Justin's I think) sunflower butter with dark chocolate cups? So good! and perfect for us peanut allergic folks.
YT getting way too comfortable with double ads...
also are you .. going to open a restaurant one day?
if you could veganize wendy’s 🥰 they had a vegan black bean burger they tested in ohio and it was sooooo goooood!!! but they got rid of it :(
Mmmmmhhhhmmmmmmm
put the chocolate in a piping bag
Can you make something with tons of fat and sugar so you can get a stomach ache?
YES.
Every vegan know how to do reese's
But my way is better 😉
o.0 whoooa i live in sioux fu dang
I loved Reeses but I stopped eating them lol n never looked back
I would be careful using chocolate that does not at least say 'vegan-friendly' - a lot of 'regular' sugar is processed using bone char. So unless a product says vegan, not going to take that risk yuk
No tempered chocolate? It's not a real gourmet candy 😂
LISTEN, ain’t nobody got time for that
This is better than Gourmet Makes! And way less racist.
Milky Way or 100 grand 💦💦💦
