      Console is more nice for being Social. Everything is Connected and Easy to chat, most PC games use external Voice so it's a lot harder to have that social side of things unless you have a big group of dedicated gamer friends. Great info on how to take it apart. It might have been helpful to others to show the underside of the lid and what is actually holding it down and why you press on it the way you do WHERE you do...makes a lot more sense after the fact. There's 2 little nubs at the end about a couple millimeters high that don't have hooks in them. You are essentially lifting them out of the holes they sit in, allowing the rest of the plastic cover to slide open. When you slide it back together, the main hooks catch the sliding cover, then the little nubs drop into those shallow holes, locking it in place, once you slide it all the way up.

      The UI for ps4 was much better than ps5 IMO. Navigating to the party menu is a pain in the ass since you have to open up “game base”, select the party tab, find the party you want, open that up, and then join. (Assuming you wanted to see who was in there first. If you don’t care about that you could skip I think 2 steps). It’s just so unintuitive and clunky that it really does make things more difficult than it needs to be.

    I bought a WD Black SN850 and coupled that with the Sabrent heatsink for my PS5. Perfect fit. NASCompares has done extensive testing on heatsinks for it and found the Sabrent heatsink to be one of the best for managing heat dissipation and it maintains the design that Sony intended. So far, so good! And if I ever choose to upgrade it to let's say 4tb in the future, I can always repurpose this drive into my PC.

I paid £210 for a brand new SN850 2tb last July from ebay all the other offers were like £300-£350 I have my warranty too, July 2021 it was a right bargain, the it's i still like £275 on ebay uk Samsung 980 Pro was like £150 more at time that's £285 right now. Brilliant drive had no problems so far, big in productivity workloads, gaming not so much, xplane 11 though loads in like a min with add on scenery, reshade, enhanced cloud scrapes. I bet this great for running ratchet and clank though etc, I tested against my gen 3 Samsung drive I got loy less money on boot times and it was neglible completely overkill and a waste for that

      @@crisnmaryfam7344 The airflow comes from up top. It passes over the metal plate that covers the drive, not from below it. It wouldnt make sense to vent from below as you would have to make vent holes through the motherboards. He also says it doesnt pass over. Yes it does. The ridges you see above the m.2 are the vent holes. The ps5 fan you see there pulls air from between the black and white plastic, through the ridges, over the m.2 cover into the fan. From the fan it gets pushed through the system airway and out the exhaust. Airflow was seriously considered when making the ps5. The entire system is made somewhat airtight by foam inserts in open spaces of the system to direct airflow.

Also Sabrent designed their own M.2 Cover plate specifically for the ps5s M.2 slot, which also serves as a heatsink so you dont have to install one on your own. Heads up for anyone concerned, you can only have 1 USB drive at a time. you can alternate it freely, but you can't have 2 usb storage devices concurrently. If you like to have everything available always, a 2tb or bigger nvme internal drive, and a 4tb or bigger usb drive (i like 4tb mx500), is Really worth considering splurging on. If both your internal and external storage get full, upgrading is painful.

  • @Shadowespeon17
    @Shadowespeon17 Před 2 lety +9

    The SSD bay does have airflow, but the PS5 uses negative pressure in that slot to draw the heat from that vent. Not the most ideal method, but as long as your heatsink is actually a functional heatsink and not just useless scrap metal then it will do the job.
    Sabrent, and IIRC, one of either ADATA or PNY has a specialty Proprietary heatsink cover that improves on Sony's original method of managing those temps.

    This current console generation is reminding me a lot of the start of the 360 era, you couldn't build an equivalent PC for less than the MRSP of the console! There obviously wasn't the price gouging that there is now but even at MSRP you'll struggle to match the performance of these consoles with new hardware for the same price. I think until proof of work mining moves to proof of stake and supply shortages are resolved the consoles will actually be better value for money for most people's gaming needs.
