I do all of this. I'll do a diamond painting, I'll make bath bombs or soap. Sometimes, I'll make resin pieces. Read. I'll get comfy and still not be able to sleep. It's basically when my body is so exhausted it can't handle anymore that I fall asleep. This has been worse the last 5 to 7 months. I can't pin point what triggered it. Usually I finally pass out about 5am. Meaning I'm sleeping until 10am sometimes 12. I'm always tired. Idk how much longer I can go on like this. I've had to rearrange my entire life around my odd sleep schedule. It's insane & I'm over it. The reason I do crafts is because I'll get anxious if I'm just sitting with my own thoughts. I have to keep my mind busy.
I normally sleep at like 3 in the morning but for once i tried sleeping at 10pm, i closed my eyes and couldn’t sleep so i thought about my whole entire life and when i checked the time it was 6am in the morning.
One thing that i do is build a world and create characters with specific traits, cities and locations with different cultures with my imagination. Takes me just 10 - 15 mins to fall asleep and its fun! I look forward to doing it every night. I tried reading and while it initially helped me, in the laters years when i was really tired and jittery after a long day I wasn’t able to concentrate or grasp anything i read. I opted for this and its been the best every since!
I do something similar. You weave layers and layers of imagination which makes you lose yourself and before you know you are gone. Takes me about 5 mnts to fall asleep.
I think that's a fab idea! You're telling yourself a bedtime story! Perhaps during the evening you can actually put ink to your imagination and write short stories? Narrate and tape them on your own YT channel to help others ... relax their thoughts and ease into sleep 😴....

If I do this, one of three things will happen: - I won't sleep - I will fall asleep in the wrong room (bad sleep hygiene) - When I get sleepy and go back to bed I will once again be unsleepy, taking me back to where I started Thus why I take my phone to bed despite this being horrible sleep hygiene. This one works well, cause I /you will usually fall asleep before I /you reach to Z. Saying an afirmmation, "God loves you, you can now can go to sleep!" Those help me go to sleep fast.☺🙏🏻💛❤🦋
