I appreciate the skill it takes to create those works, but I have a huge problem when art turns into vandalism. For those buildings to sell and bring something to the community, it will cost hundreds of thousands (more?) of dollars to clean up. When it's obvious that the work isn't commissioned, it looks like urban blight instead of works of art.

Graffiti is fine if you’re just a tourist viewing it as a spectator. Come back and tell what you think when it infests your house and neighborhood

This speaks volumes about the lawlessness we have here in California. My wife and I are huge fans of you guys, especially your Disney vlogs. We all know that this is a part of Spencer’s background but, this type of behavior is not only illegal, but is contributing to the decay of our big cities in California. This is a common occurrence here in the Bay Area, (not on abandoned towers) and should not be hi lighted as positive. Yes this is a form of art, but a different canvas is needed.

Get off your high horse and moral BS! I'm no graffiti tagger, but I appreciate art when I see one. This is a form of art. The former owner went bankrupt and left the 3 structures as an eyesore, being unfinished. Now that's gotten attention, due to taggers making it colorful, I hope they can finish spray painting all 3 buildings. It's become a tourist attraction, not the kind we hope for, better than it was before.
I say leave the taggers alone, eventually, the buildings will either get sold or meet its demolition day.

I love the way that the intricate, larger pieces of graffiti art look. But I don't appreciate that it's done in places that cause the property owners to have a negative impact because of it. Commissioned art or paintings in legal places are awesome. Tags that are just letters put onto privately owned buildings are just vandalism that are in poor taste and are disrespectful.

I’m an artist and I use multiple canvases… mostly rocks… and I think it’s beautiful. It’s already an empty building that looks somewhat boring, so the art makes it more beautiful. I mean I know we can’t go and paint on any and every property just due to basic respect, but being a California girl myself, I think it looks good in our beautiful state. 💕

There's graffiti all over downtown, and south LA by USC. Where I used to live there were taggers at night, and it was kinda scary in alleys. Because it was a very short distance. Usc area doesnt mess around. The lapd once called usually respond quickly. I do appreciate the Angel art work on the wall ,where I used to live that didnt get ruined. There are some nice murals around inner city and the Valley. The taggers out there were usually teenagers. LAPD helicopters usually fly around the areas pretty low Vermont and Martin Luther King Blvd. Where I live now is diffrently not art work in some areas. Like names crossed out, with a number thats not art work.

I heard about this on the news and was surprised. I don't live in S. California and wasn't aware of this. My question to the city of LA is "why would you leave these buildings abandoned for years. Why not sell them in "as is" condition to someone else who can finish the construction and make them working buildings"🤨🤨I don't feel that it's right to graffiti a building just because it's abandoned. Graffiti artists need to put their talent somewhere else.

Thank you for sharing that! I never even knew about that breakfast place #roadtrip... in my defense I probably wouldn't have visited as until recently it was pretty dangerous to go there. I'm a young Boomer so I've just recently looked at graffiti as art. I will never appreciate it as someone from your/other generation but it definitely is more palatable with you talking about it. I'd love hearing the stories of who the writers are. To leave a giant building like that unfinished is more criminal than the art decorating it now, so there I said it😮

I think it's amazing that people are so upset about this graffiti considering where it is. It's like being upset that a window has smudges while it's shattered. There's a much larger issue at hand here. The fact that the "graffiti" is even a discussion is beyond my comprehension.

I’m an admirer of graffiti. I will get hate for that but I enjoy the actual art. I look for it going down the 5 on my way to Disneyland. I also take pictures of it wherever I go. Of course I can do without some of it… I wish it could be commissioned and done throughout communities in specific sections. I see that too but not enough in my opinion.

Not all cities is graffiti-ridden. Personally, I love nicely done wall art. I distaste graffiti in any form. It's like you are trashing your city. Learn to paint nice pictures, not a bunch of gang words or gibberish. I don't like the graffiti on the building at all. I would never go anywhere near there. No amount of explaining graffiti will ever make me think it's anything more than ugly city dogs**t.
As for the buildings, it would definitely make a nice livable area for homeless other than the street. But, it would also become a drug haven and I don't think anyone in there would be safe without police protection. Stealing other's stuff and all that. What the homeless needs is the city of LA giving them jobs of cleaning up the streets and the city and pay them. Give them centers to learn a trade and get work.

Do more to it to make it livable is key…. That takes money. Who do you expect to pay for it. The homeless sure can’t. It may not even be viable to be livable any more. Which means demolition. That’s also costly. What’s govt’s cut/ impediment?

Well, the city is trying to force neighborhoods to build "affordable housing", the city should take it over and make the needed repairs. But they get a cut from developers, so it may just be torn down. This is a perfect example of governmental waste.

I think the bigger crime is how it was left to sit there abandon for 5 years when nothing was done to resell it or used to house people just left to rot that is the city's fault. At least attention was brought to it with the graffiti story now someone is forced to do something with it I hope. LA has a homeless problem like other cities & here sits thousands of empty rooms.
