Is Vegas' MOST EXPENSIVE BUFFET Worth It? Bacchanal Buffet at Caesar's Palace

  • The Bacchanal Buffet at Caesar's Palace is the most expensive buffet on the Las Vegas strip. At a whopping $84.99 per person, it's very expensive and you could easily spend that much money, or less, eating at a fancy Las Vegas steakhouse or a Las Vegas MIchelin star restaurant. While expensive, there is no question though that Caesar's Bacchanal Buffet is one of the highest quality buffets you can find in Vegas, as you are treated to high quality cuisine from all over the world there. You can find great Mexican food, authentic Chinese food, prime rib, fresh seafood, and more at the Bacchanal. But is the Bacchanal the best buffet in Vegas? And is it worth its huge price tag?
We will be eating the Bacchanal Buffet, the priciest buffet in Vegas, precisely to see if it's worth $85. We ate another well-regarded buffet not long ago, the Wicked Spoon at the Cosmopolitan, so we have a frame of reference in this case. We'll be trying the Bacchanal bone marrow, the Bacchanal prime rib, the Bacchanal pho, and many of their staples, although we will be passing on their seafood due to an allergy on my end.
Is the Bacchanal in Vegas worth it and is it worth the price? We'll find out together!

Exactly. I always wear a diaper and bring a Bucklet to throw up and diaper for waste. And I’ll be there until it gets to a physical confrontation and I still won’t Leave. Nobody has ever got me out and I live off lawsuits and humiliating me from getting barf and poop in me in public.
And I always will keep adding some Vic’s vapor rub in my nostrils so I don’t have to deal with my stench.

I stayed away from the pizza area, I didn't want to fill up on breads. I ate mostly from the meat station and the sea food areas. Everyone that worked there was friendly and courteous and kept offering me more of this or more of that. Next time we visit Vegas, The Bacchanal at Caesar's will be one of the places we eat again.

The only claim to fame Bacchanal has is it’s the largest and most expensive buffet in Vegas. The buffet Ive heard people say is decent but in France, there’s a buffet that has the world’s largest cheese charcuterie line and it’s about $20ish dollars cheaper. I myself cannot imagine their quality being beat. It’s at a place called Les Grands. At around 57,90€. ( $61) for the 5 star type food they serve it cannot be beat. Also their wine is sold at cellar price. You can buy a $100+ bottle of wine for as little as $15.
If you’re ever in France I highly suggest it. It’s in Narbonne France.

    • @LordLOC
      @LordLOC Před 4 měsíci +4

I've been to that buffet about 15 years ago or so. Absolutely the best buffet I've ever been to. Mind you, I do enjoy cheaper buffets just as much as the more expensive ones out there. And I LOVE Chinese buffets (or places that specialize in Asian cuisines etc.) But the buffet in Narbonne, is just on another level. The service there is also top tier quality, the people are awesome (and most speak English, but not all, so be prepared if you ever go) and yes, the food is incredible for a buffet. They also have a literal TOWER of lobster (think of the chocolate fountains places have, they have two of those also btw regular chocolate and white chocolate fountains lol) and while I don't eat seafood it's seriously impressive stuff.

Seriously, buffets in other countries blow the US out of the water, and they are cheaper too. I think it's because non-Americans don't eat as much? Les Grand is so much better and cheaper than this that it's not even comparable. Banchanals is no more than an ayce crab leg + bone marrow + dessert place for me, everything is uneatable if you have had the good version of every dish in there. The 'asian' food is trash, the grill meats are trash, etc.

I have been to the Bacchanal buffet several times. I really enjoy the selection of various items there. I have tried couple of other buffets in Las Vegas, like the Wynn, but somehow I end up going back to Bacchanal because I feel like it's the Gold Standard that all the others should be rated against. I do pretty much agree with you on the different items though.
In general, I don't think you can go to a buffet and "try to get your money's worth." You'll just end up fasting all day, probably being miserable, and then loading up on one or two expensive items and being stuffed beyond belief. The reason to go to a buffet is so that you can sample a lot of different dishes.
Having said that, Bacchanal wasn't the most expensive buffet I've been to. The most expensive was The Nordic out in Rhode Island.

UA I so enjoy your Chanel and watched you grow in many ways . I go from Miami to Vegas very often on business and was actually at Ceasar’s about 2-3 summers ago on the tail end of Covid but Vegas was still very quiet and the hotel prices were ridiculously cheap . But on that visit they had regrant opening of the totally brand new Bachanal and my casino host insisted myself and my girlfriend try out the Bachanal the third day it was reopened my girlfriend really doesn’t care for AYCE buffets period and I think you may have missed out on a lot of items which were incredible for instance the Korean Galbi short ribs absolutely delicious as well as the individual tuna pokes and as far as the lamb chop you probably might have gone back to the carvery and requested the very nice and helpful staff members to find some medium rare lamb chops and you would really have enjoyed them . Unfortunately you suffer with an allergy to shell fish but for an $85.00 buffet there was everything from the hot snow crabs which you showed being put on peoples plates by the staff which is in my opinion not being done to conserve the item but because their steaming hot and replenished from a boiler constantly. Also there are so many expensive cold shell fish to chose from like unlimited larger then jumbo peeled shrimp , fresh shucked oysters I saw 3 varieties offered , lobster claws , Scalops and more . By the time you got to that pig which I think they changed their roasting method as it used to be part of the Filipino foods section as they had all the Asian items broken down by actual countries not regions for instance they had an adobe chicken that transported you back to the Filipines as well as other favorites . Look I know you don’t have the time to try all of the 250-300 dishes served at that buffet but as you said probably the best buffet in Vegas and I agree if I wasn’t comped every time I’ve eaten there in my opinion the $85.00 is well worth it with especially the huge increase in costs and labor today . Heck for $85.00 a person it’s worth taking a large group of people there for a special occasion as they have food for almost everyone’s diet and tastes including Vegan . But anyhow great review as always I’ve never left such a long comment lol before . Keep up the great work and FYI I totally agree with you regarding which is better Katz`s or Langer`s and just by a bit Langers has a more escalated product . Sincerely Robert Katz

Thanks Robert for your detailed comment and for taking the time to share your thoughts! I always love hearing from you all and your personal anecdotes. I think the Bacchanal has different items on different days. They may even have different items at different hours! There were no Korean short ribs when I went or else I 100% would have nabbed them and reviewed them. I actually did end up trying the poke on the off-camera trip when I got the pho. It didn't make the final cut as the video was already 30 minutes long. I think ultimately we agree. $85 is very steep and that's a lot of money, but then again it's still a great buffet and if you're in Vegas and willing to splurge, hey I say it might be worth it! But I get that everyone has their own opinion and there's no right or wrong choice there. In my opinion though it's worth experiencing at least once. I actually saw a newly married couple and their guests eating there and imo that's a fantastic wedding dinner!

Roasted bones, dry meats and corn? Take a tip from vlogger Tim Lee, always ask for the cut you prefer (medium rare, fatty, etc.). Don’t just let them slap a pre-cut piece on your plate. That’s what all that meat up there is for. If you can’t eat shellfish, then at least demand the cut you want, and stay away from the damn pizza!

The shellfish limitation is a serious cost-benefit hindrance for a high-end Vegas buffet. But nothing you can do about that. Frankly, I didn’t see anything that would make me rush out and stand in line for this buffet. Especially when the item that got the most enthusiastic reaction was street corn.

The last time I was at the Bachannal, there was this table near mine with all middle aged Vietnamese women, and they came there just for the crab, and they were not shy about it, carrying 2 plates at a time, stacked high of crab legs. And I noticed that someone from their party would just take turns and stand at the bar waiting for the next batch of crab from the kitchen and that person would clean it all up, leaving nothing but small broken bits behind, and they would bring it back to their group and then another person would get up to be at the counter to get the next batch of crab. I had mentioned something to their party that they were ruining the experience for everyone else who paid for the dinner buffet, and they acted like they didn't understand English. So I pointed them out to the management team and made them comp my table because we came here for the crab, and another table was hogging it all. They ate only crab and nothing else! Those Vietnamese women should be embarrassed of themselves. It's people like them that ruin the experience of the whole buffet, their table was covered in nothing but empty crab shells. It was very upsetting to go to the most expensive Las Vegas buffet and get robbed of what we paid for. They thought that they could get away with it, and finally someone had to call them out and stop them from hogging all the crab and not letting anyone else get some. Freaking Boomers are so selfish and lack self-awareness in public, they think only of themselves, and when you tell them to learn to share they curse back, "phuck you" in their heavy Vietnamese accent and that's why management had to boot their party from the restaurant.

l think there has to be a distinction taken into account when comparing buffet prime rib and rack of lamb to something a la carte at say a Keen’s.
To me they aren’t quite the same thing. Completely different ballparks.
Feeding a buffet crowd is always going to have an effect (affect?) on quality on those two items in particular.
Even worse for pizza which you shouldn’t even touch at a buffet.
Maybe being too lenient is too kind but that’s the way l see it.
Otherwise great job as usual UA. Look forward to the next review.

I miss the old Vegas. Not even talking that old, like 90s and early 2000s. Used to get a room at the IP and they would give you credit vouchers for the hotel restaurants that were worth more than what you paid for the room. In the early-mid 90s, used to play $2 blackjack at Caesar's Palace all day with my friends. We made side bets for the dealers frequently and talked to the pit boss and would usually get comped on free breakfast or lunch, even though we were at the lowest priced table. Oh, and rooms at Caesar's were about $60 with no resort fees.

They usually offer meats at the buffet at various levels of doneness. No, you probably can’t get rare, but if you want medium or maybe even medium rare, you should ask for a center piece that’s a bit more rare. The carver will get it for you (except for smoked meats, of course. That’s a different story).

    Good video UA.
The food reminds me of a 7 day cruise my family took to Mexico. Every breakfast and lunch was a massive buffet just like this one. Dinner was a sit down each night. The quality looks equal if not a bit better. There were lots of vegetable dishes that looked and tasted excellent. Everything was very fresh. The meats were excellent. They would even grill a steak to your desired doneness right in front of you. Way better than the Prime Rib and Brisket in your video. Crazy thing is all of our meals were included in the price of the tickets. Got a nice deal from Costco so we saved a lot of money. $85 (just for this meal) is about half of the cost (per day) for one family member on our vacation, three meals, endless drinks (non alcoholic), ice cream bar and some sort of snack type food available 24 hours. Treated like a king for a week. My point is the math doesn't add up here as far as value. Next time...just book a cruise and you'll get a better buffet each day...and a "free" vacation.
