Imagine the kid trying to justify his tardiness to his teacher
"Conan O'Brien woke me up and forced me to watch TV with him"
Plot twist: His teacher doesn't know who is Conan O'Brien.
Correction: "Conan O'Brien woke me up and forced me to watch TV *_of_* him"
@@gregorypan wooooooooooooooooooow
It's college, that doesn't even matter to the professors. If you don't attend class as far as they're concerned you're wasting someone else's money and they still get paid.
"Conan OBrein isnt real- he cant make you late for class"
@ecardozo7043
the way he defused the Buffalo situation, what a lad.
and then he goes, "I was just almost murdered." lol
Lol love conan
Defused? Guy just said he didn't like him.
Conan- well, I'm not Native American, so, how's the grazing?
Mohammad Arif Anuar He really is something. He changed the remorse to a certain degree of respect. He’s very talented.
That drunk dude was the only person that recognized him haha

@@hbk23 Bang Bang!
And Andy too.
Greatest Late night host. Period. Nobody else can do what he does, and he's been consistent throughout multiple eras of television.
Not to mention, his hair is an unstoppable force of nature.
The only 2 genuine tv hosts i like are Conan and Craig Ferguson. The rest seem pretty fake to me
im gonna save your comment. beautifully said
Martin Short just said Conan’s his favorite host ever and Howard Stern just started Conan was the best guest ever, he’s the man and a real comedian.
Great, the letterman torch passed to this good ol boy
Love you Danny, from Ireland
Conan's voice hasn't changed at all in 25 years.
thats usually how voices work
Well, you usually hit puberty once. lol
@@mimmingmimming9224 well voices often get deeper when people get older and older, look at Harrison Ford for example, his voice is super deep compared to 40 years ago
That is so funny do you want it to be different??

I’m proud to say I was one of those people from Houston that stayed up and watched Conan at 2:40 in the morning. When I had school I’d time record it on my VCR with a blank tape. Been a Conan fan along time.
Did your affiliate ever fix that lousy time slot?
Yep. I set my VCR to watch the next day. I remember this episode clearly 🤣
I saw this years ago but was in Houston for the first time this year..
@@thekidfromiowaI’m pretty sure this episode put pressure on them to move the show back to right after Jay. I remember watching Conan in the early 2000’s at his normal time slot.
4:50 technically that guy is technically correct. Andy’s full name is Paul Andrew Richter.
I recently saw a sketch from the TBS show where Andy was preparing for a BBQ season and he had a manual labour double named Paul :D
Also, love your name, Pheebs.
@@ondraspendlik9759 haha

Buffalo was like a real life Twitter troll. However, a part of me respects him because he said it to Conan’s face, instead of hiding behind a computer.

Roger Sotelo how dad you edit your comment to no longer make mine make sense. You said “puter” damnit. Not “computer!”
“Its not a show without the little fat dude”...ain’t that the truth
Max and conan had great chemistry tho during the time when short fat guy wasnt around.

that is so cute and I'm your 69th like hahahaha
That is would be hysterical to see live at 2:40 am some night in Houston way back when
I wish Conan had come to Minneapolis sometime, but we never popped up on his radar I guess. Had he come or if he ever does, I know he would come in the Winter and derive some kind of humor from the frigidity.
@@AJHyoton I think most white pasty entertainers will be taking a pass on Minneapolis for a while...

i love how he easily dealt with that hostile guy and somehow got him on his side
In hostile situations,
intelligence bears diplomacy
Lack thereof bears violence
Hostile?
@@Muzikrazy213 Not neccecarily, intellegence recognizes the need for physical strength
He wasn’t hostile. He was the best part of the remote. He spoke his mind
I remember Conan said at the JFK hall when he was younger he wasn't good at anything but realized he did one thing better than most people and that was diffusing a situation with comedy...that really shines here.
I am from Houston, and in '97, I used to stay up late and by chance I had come across Conan's show. I felt like I must have been the only person in the whole city to have stumbled upon something really cool and funny. I kept imagining myself looking around wondering if anyone else was watching such a funny guy as well. It was like a secret that only I knew about.
Conan is one of a kind. There will never be a host like him. I get pissed every time I remember what NBC did to him....
It's just like what konami did wd kojima.
JAZZ Sami Those days are long behind him, and he is now number one, not just in US but in many countries revered as a great figure of Comedy, and yet a humble man !
what did jay leno do ? he is erased of the face of television and his legacy is as the man who screwed everyone he met and they were happy to forget him after he was gone !
actions speak far louder than any late show host's mic !
@@mehrdadparthian874 but with the kind of money leno has he probably doesn't care what ppl think
@@OrokanaMkIII funny you should say that, Pablo escobar had over 50 billions of dollars in bank in around 70s and alot of hard cash burried beneath the ground, so much so that 100 generations after him did not know how to spend all that money , and yet when he was kicked out of cuba by government, and was living a great life in other countries of south america, he was willing to pay the entire national debt of Cuba , just to be allowed to get back into his own country !
money creates happiness, but does not sustain it ! reputation and the love of people does !
Yes.. and nice I think he ended up w a better deal ;))
I remember watching this episode live, more than 20 years ago in Houston on a school night. I was in Middle School. I used to watch David Letterman and then Conan.
The Freedman ahhh, same same. I must have been about 10 or 12. I caught the first episode (with John Goodman) by luck and couldn’t believe what the hell I was watching. Kinda blew my adolescent mind and because no one else in my life at the time knew about the show I always felt like it was that much more special. I watched it every night. Like you, I would watch Letterman, then switch to Conan.
The Freedman same here. I stayed up way too late every single night but it was worth it
LOL brothers! ME 3! or is it 4 now.? haha
I'd catch him during summer break more often than not. I know I saw him a lot more frequently than I should've for a show that came on at 2:40am. He had the only late night program that I even remotely enjoyed and KPRC put him on sooooo late.
awwww all this sounds so sweet and nostalgic. Im 20 and a big fan of Conan. I truly believe he was way ahead of his time
Dang, a TV Guide. Haven't seen that in a while
Was thinking similar thoughts as I carried the just-delivered, brand-new copy of the Yellow Pages to the recycle bin

Every now and then I watch all the Conan remotes to feel better. Conan remotes never disappoint, it's the best thing on the Internet.
At 14 years old I would stay up until 2:40 to watch this show. That is the truth. I am now 29. Conan's show was the last good program to air in Houston in the late 90's. And I never missed it. After his show it would be nothing but infomercials. Good programs wouldn't begin until 6am or 7am. Don't get me started on Letterman. I began watching Letterman at 5. I even requested a suit like letterman's suit and loafers for a wedding I went to at 6yrs old. Just saying been a long time viewer.
Late night OG :)
Mr. Anderson geez you’re such a big fan! Conan and David would be happy.
Lol wow, what a story. 14 waiting til 2:40am. I had school, no way.

That's when I would watch Conan when I was 13-14. There was nothing else but mash reruns and infomercials at that time.

And this proves that Conan was waaaaay ahead of his time among all tv hosts. This is so iconic. He took this out from the timeslot issue too and turned it into a content. we stan an inspirational man!
honestly, the guy at 9:05, his dorm room or whatever looks super cozy. i could spend all day in a place like that listening to Lofi playing N64
That last guy Buffalo was a jerk, but tbh im surprised he didnt run into more weirdos at 2:30am lol
Pretty sure the bus terminal is where homeless people go after the library closes so I'd say it went pretty well.
good thing conan handled that situation very well, if it were other people, they might get offended
That was the Greyhound station. Nothing has changed.
Pretty sure Conan was in it and they told "Buffalo" to say that to keep it interesting. The other people they interview were very reserve.
Hes dead now, one of the videos on the bobblehead conan or one of the fan pages comments had a commenter claim to be his son, he said he passed a few years after this remote due to drugs, kinda sad considering he is probably the last troll to ever say something to someones face instead of behind a computer
As a Houstonian, I can remember these days. You had to stay up to the wee hours just to see Conan. A couple of years after this they did eventually change his time slot to be directly after Jay Leno and we were able to see prime Conan before bedtime.
nyquilnu Houston did the same thing to letterman when he moved to cbs, they put some current affair type show after the local news
Conan is so handsome here 😍
Im 26 and I have the biggest crush on him

I'm from Houston, I remember staying up way late to watch his show. I went to school half asleep but man, it worth the laughs. Thanks Coco.
M R same here. And no matter what, I did it again every night after telling myself I wouldn’t lol
Same here. Then a year later after this skit they moved his show to 1:30a and then by 2005 they moved him to 12:30a. Now the Late Night w Seth Meyers is immediately after Fallon in Houston.
"where's your crappy buddy at?" I think is the best Conan remote line of all his remotes.

his hair doesn't look red in this...did he dye it or is it old film
Conan would be on TV after we drove back from the clubs (or were up all night doing drugs).
@@blastbeatindustries3191 yup, too bad most of the best clubs are gone now
@@God-mb8wi If I could bring one back, it would be The Abyss.
@@blastbeatindustries3191
Man, I remember when The Abyss was The Vatican. God, you'd used to be able to cruise down Washington and see dozens upon dozens of clubs, and all of em had their unique thing. Going down Washington today, it's a shell of its former self. Oh well, there are a few good clubs still, I guess. But what especially is too bad is so many classic restaurants are also gone. Progress, I guess.
I really love that they post these old stuff brings me back down memory lane. Conan's the best.
Yes keep em coming!
Andy ties the show together
Conan IS the best, really. The others are good, but he's on another level and totally unique.
Conan really shines when he's doing one on one interactions, unscripted, unprompted and off the top of his head. It's why his remotes have been and still are hilarious, and it's the reason why the podcast is so good.
Why was Mick Foley insulting Conan and Andy? 😂
Exactly what I was thinking 😂
Buff Foley “HAVE A BAD DAY”
I wonder what we'll do when Conan retires 😑 best of all time!
Don't even say that dude 😭

This was always one of my favorite remotes he did. Glad Conan uploaded it himself.
As a Houstonian, I approve of this video: Conan went to the best area in Houston to find people to watch: a strip club.
And holy hell, analog...the old commercials.
I love when they remaster old episodes then make them 1080p. Wonderfull 💜😭👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

Watching Conn is like medicine for my spirit... like airing out the soul... getting a little fire going in that cold space in my stomach... thank you Conan@Team ❤️ (srsly... thank you.)
Going into the hospital when the show comes on is a stroke of genius. I would be pleased to be there regardless of the other circumstances.
“We’re going for a Buffalo hunt” 😂😂😂😂 dying
I Had to check this out after he talked about it on ‘You Made It Weird’ with Pete Holmes 😂🙏🏽
What did he say about it?
canedubey they referenced this particular remote on the show and Conan & Pete talked about how nervous he was with the run in with the biker.

It's gonna be a sad day when there is no more Conan content...
Late 90s Conan was so elite.
It's crazy to think this was 22 years ago.
Back in 1996 - 1998 I will not miss an episode of Jay Leno (11:35pm) and then Conan O Brien (12:35pm) on NBC. If I could not watched I use to record it on VHS and watched the day after.
Fantastic skit! I started watching Conan when I was 14. That was in 2000. I'm 33 now, 19 years later and he is still making me laugh!
Conan's a comedic genius
I remember watching this when it aired, I've never forgotten the Buffalo guy or Conan saying "I was just almost murdered" 🤣🤣🤣. Never missed this show back then, can't believe I finally found this clip. Also the short little pre-recorded clips they used to show in between commercial breaks, does anybody remember the one where Conan and Andy were walking down the halls of their offices shoulder to shoulder and pushing any employees that were in the way to the side?? so damn funny!

Conan has really improved and perfected his craft. He’s so young and he still lacks the edge that he has now.
I miss "Late Night with Conan O'Brien." The 90's was a great decade. Nickelodeon, The WB, Nirvana, NWA, Sony PlayStation, N64, The Hubble Telescope, Arnold Schwarzenegger films, Cloning. So many awesome thing about the 90's.
