I don't see enough pathfinder content on CZcams, son it's great to have such great quality videos!
Lorfinder upload = drop everything
Hope you enjoy this episode, it's a bit different.
"thankfully, they're already familiar with the adoption process." LMFAO
Ganzi - the tall-folk version of gnomes
The introduction of versatile heritages opens up so many awesome options. My favorite combos among those featured in this video would probably be, Iruxi Aasimar and Leshy Ganzi.
thank you for introducing me to new races to play! i only knew of aasimar and tieflings before
The other Races are either VERY new (2018) or very obscure. Thankfully they are thematically similar enough to ride Aasimar/Tiefling coattails and get a video!
Yeah. Ganzi were back in 2015. They were in the Distant Shores book. It was only a Campaign Setting of rare and exotic locations your party might never see, so yeah: Obscure.
6:25 "you wont find it on any map"
its right there on the map.
sorry i couldn't help myself
You know who wants brown bread?
A synth....
I learned something new from watching this video. Thank you so much.
At 15:24, I imagine the "furry" one is just a joke, but if it's not, what would be the real name of the evil outsiders that lead to that?
That's a Tiefling descended from a Rakshasa, which are evil outsiders with strong ties to the material plane. they mostly resemble half-man, half tigers.
Also known as “Beastbrood”
How you know how good this channel is:

ZERO Dislikes
3:09 What, exactly, is that beauty from and what's she supposed to be? She's something else.
I'm not sure if the book 'Druma: Profit and Prophecy' was released when this video came out, but theres a decent population of tiefling in Druma who have fled persecution faced in Cheliax that was welcome. I thought it was a super cool bit while I was reading about it
of course a mtg ad pops up on this video XD
I did not get a notification for this. Found it 2 days later
that is concerning, hopefully, it was just a fluke. we try to get out at least 1 video a month so if we seem to disappear for any longer than that then I'd check manually.
Venture-Captains definitely will do. Especially since you're one of the few pathfinder channels
Honestly, after finding out that Tieflings and Assimar in Pathfinder can be descended from ANY celestial /fiend ancestry, I don't think I can ever go back to their D&D iteration. Being descended exclusively from devils, who's only noticeable difference is which of the Nine Hells they trace their lineage to made Tieflings BORING to me. But in Pathfinder, I have a wide range of options to choose from. Rakshasa spawn = FURRY TIEFLINGS!
Actually that’s just the case for Your standard generic Tiefling. It’s fully possible to have a Tiefling child from any fiendish being, it’s just Devils are the most common
@@Master_E444 But sadly, the books don't seem to cover them. At least none that I've personally heard about. They also seem to have their powers default themed around the Nine Hells and Devils. While in Pathfinder, you get a wide range of different abilities, to suit your fiendish ancestry.
@@Nyrufa that's what Reflavoring is for
@@Master_E444 It's just not the same. It's still tainted by the knowledge that' it's not officially supported outside of homebrew. The most likely chance I'd get to play such a character would be in a campaign setting of my own design, and that means I'd probably be forced to be the DM, rather than an actual player.
@@Nyrufa it's not that hard, you'd just need to clear having a particular type of Tiefling with the DM
Did the psychopomp just lemme smash? Also are there half breed psychopomps? I haven't read any but that would be rad
It was a visual gag mostly. As far as I am aware we don't have any half-outsiders that are part psychopomp and the Duskwalkers dont directly descend from them, but I agree that a half psychopomp would make a badass NPC.
Ray: I honestly didn't think anyone would catch that joke.
@@VentureCaptains I was staring at it when the psychopomp appeared, I love them and if I ever play a wizard I want one as a familiar. Freaking plague doctor birds with 4 wings.
Nosoi is a fun lv7 Improved Familiar choice! Go for it!
@@chibinya I'm in a campaign right now that just started but maybe if I start a new one I'll make a neutral debuffer-damage necromancer wizard with one!
What is a ple-an?
that's how us British northerners say plane.
Is this music from Monkey Island?
All of the music is royalty free. we list the sources in the description.
@@VentureCaptains Scheming Weasel was a great choice for the Ganzi.
Great video. But . . .
One of the labels is wrong at 05:11 -- Peri-blooded aren't Perytons. Perytons exist, but are something entirely different, that most often isn't very friendly: www.aonprd.com/MonsterDisplay.aspx?ItemName=Peryton
@17:05 -- missing Qlippoth-spawn. Also, what's "Furry"?
Sorry for taking so long to reply! its been a crazy month for us.
1) That's correct! honest mistake on the labeling here, but thanks for pointing it out! I'll try to fix it with an annotation
2) we did indeed miss qlippoth spawn. This is really embarrasing because we had the image ready to go! In fact one of the parts of the script we cut is how qlippoth spawn tends to result in childbirth deaths for the poor mothers, so I can't believe we missed this.
Pathfinder has a lot of different evil demon/devil like monsters - but I've never understood the purpose of the Demodands.
Ray: it was a consistent issue during writing that I brought up with our editor Anri. pathfinder makes a distinction between many terms that are used interchangeably in other media. (like devil/demon being different species) it can make things rather complex and in my own opinion, probably more so than is warranted.
Anri: Hey there! sorry for the late reply. Ray already commented on the logistics of multiple evil outsider races, but about the purpose of the Demodands themselves, they were supposed to fit in the titans myth part of pathfinder. About how the first creation of the gods were Titans (Elysian and Thanatotic) and some of these wanted to be worshipped as the gods themselves were.
In lore, the purpose of the Demodands is to show the arrogance of the Thanatotic titans, that they thought they were on par wit the gods but the only life they could create was wretched and foul. It's about giving an in-lore justification for why they are not quite deities.
From a GM standpoint the Demodands exist because you need minor flunkies for your Titan-Slayer campaign, or else it becomes eeriely similiar to the "Go slay that Demon Lord" campaign you ran last month. While I have never personally felt the need to run any such campaign, I can't deny that greek myths are cool and there's a lot of people who would find that fun to play.
In a metagame sense they exist because having some fiends that are adept at killing divine casters is pretty cool. And of course there's the nvelty factor that they are not made from human souls, unlike other fiends the demodands breed. Ever wanted to present the players with the connondrumof killing a baby demon? well, demons cannot be babies, but Demodands can!
While I agree that they are pretty niche and most GM's wont ever use them, we could say the same about all the robot enemies, the Kytons, etc. They only really fit one kind of niche campaign, but if you need them you have them!
