i kinda wonder if jax is an NPC who tricked caine into thinking he was one of the humans and the reason he likes to torment people all of the time is so that he feels some type of control over his existence

It hurts doubly so because... maybe in-fiction they want us to perceive Gummigoo as lesser-than; from this side of the screen there isn't really meaningful distinction between him and the rest of the cast. It's about as f'd up he did him like that as if Caine just confetti'd Zooble or Kinger.
@@gameguru8 that's definetly why Caine did that though. Something happened when he let NPC's into the circus, and he is VERY traumatised by it
That part with Caine unaliving Gummigoo so unceremoniously made me feel so much rage… Honestly kinda surprised Pomni didn't abstract right there.

Will you people please STOP using that STUPID term “unalive”!? If you must use a euphemism use the term “TERMINATION” instead! P.S. Seeing Gummigoo being terminated by Caine is actually FUNNY.

@@rascamedi0 It’s not a role play account. However I have reached a breaking point of seeing that STUPID term in the comments more and more. People are getting so oversensitive they are willing to use ridiculous terms like this. Additionally it’s already bad enough that CZcamsrs are using that childish term in their videos like Ray William Johnson even though I tried to tell him in the comments to please stop doing that, but then again once CZcamsrs become big enough they tend to stop listening to the comment section sadly even when there is genuinely helpful advice in there.

it'll take ALOT to change peoples minds, and it isn't even bad to use the term unalive, and yes it can be annoying but you shouldnt try to aggravate people as unalive is simply a synonym for death as sometimes you dont know what correlation people have with it

Looked like ragatha’s arm at the end there with the blue sleeve she has. Thought of it like Pomni’s finally feels like she’s not alone and she has all of them too, as right after that scene, she smiles. Comes full circle circle at the end.
Edit: it was actually all of them! Besides Jax it seems
Love that scene. The nightmare was all about her fears about being forgotten if/when she abstracts, but her seeing the funeral makes her realize that they do actually care, and they symbolically pull her out of the darkness.
Ragatha: I don't think Pomni likes me that much.
Kinger: Don't take it too personally. She's just having trouble getting used to everything. I remember how hard it was for you to adjust.
Ragatha: Oh yeah! I'm surprised you remember that.
Kinger:.... Remember what?
Okay, so, I thought Kinger was funny in the first episode, and his brief moments of not acting crazy and him being the first player to arrive intrigued me a little, but I didn't get why so many people considered him to be the best character. That conversation between him and Ragatha made me a Kinger Stan. Him briefly giving Ragatha empathy and comfort, only to go back into crazy uncle mode makes me share the common headcanon that it's all an act he puts on to avoid abstraction.
Also, you say it feels like Jax has accepted his existence, but it seems to me that everyone is dealing with existing as characters in a glitchy video game in their own way. Jax is accepting it through violence and Looney Tunes tomfoolery, Ragatha through helping newbies, Kinger through having his head in the clouds while being there for others when they need it, etc.
Kinger is very funny 😂 And oh yeah I totally agree. They all are coping in their own way, but I can’t help but fixate on Jax with this
I actually see Jax as very likely to abstract, the moment Ragatha goes abstract it's just a matter of time for him. I do think that he uses this world to escape and sees it as a game, he wants every part of it to go as he likes while avoiding every part of it that reminds him that this is his life, this is real(like the funeral). Without Ragatha he is going to be left alone with Gangle and Kinger in the adventures and no one to really mess with

My guess is that this won’t be the last time we see him. NPCs come back and he has a plushi. So he could come back for lots of episodes. I would love for Caine to change his mind and let Gummygoo live his own life somewhere

Somehow it ended on a slightly more hopeful note than the pilot did.
3:00 yeah I couldn’t agree more I want Pomni to apologize to Ragatha. I understand she is still dealing with her new life and existence but Pomni owns her some major apologies.
i feel like Jax's comments about wanting "chaos" was maybe supposed to be a representation of the audience before this episode aired. People were making these theories about these CRAZY things that would happen in the episode, and the episode came out and it's just a really somber and emotional episode. I love that.

20:50 - It was Ragatha, Zooble, Kinger, and Gangle.
I'm just really sad that Gummi didn't survive :( I like audibly went "NOOOOOO" because of how much I enjoyed his presence. I do think he'll be back though. Somehow.
I did like the character, and the fact that Caine does reuse npcs’ from time to time could make it possible
My theory is that Caine is putting abstracted characters under the map for a specific reason. There's almost certainly NPCs amongst the main cast and their models will definitely be under the circus map.
That or....they all have models underneath and with it the only escape...the same way the humans get out of the program in I Have No Mouth...

Caine is likely programmed with Asimov's Three Laws of Robotics. The first of which is that he cannot harm or kill a person or through inaction allow a person to be harmed or killed.
Furthermore this explains why he is afraid of confusing NPCs and humans. He's concerned about if he accidentally deletes a human. It would go completely against his own programming.
When you think about it’s good Zooble didn’t come cause after what the crew went through, how she can pull apart, also if I remember correctly, Goose said something that Zooble would be different in different episodes?!
It's interesting how your qualifying Jax's perspective as 'being comfortable' blindsided me. I interpret Jax as coming at it like a griefer in online games; I don't feel like those kinds of people find enjoyment by engaging with games on their own merits, but rather their just existing as avenues to derive pleasure from others' misfortune. Putting that in the context of the show, I don't think he's enjoying his state of being trapped in this virtual prison. Or at least, he gets nothing out of the experience of just existing there. He just happens to have these 'nodes' that he can mine for enjoyment via instigating conflict, serving as a distraction from his own boredom/misery.
Maybe we'll eventually find out he has some sort of fondness for anyone else in there, although I wouldn't be surprised if it winds up coming from a sociopathic or narcissistic angle. "You guys are my toys and I'd really hate it if I didn't get to torment you anymore" type deal. Given how he reacted to Kaufmo getting abstracted, I doubt it.
I mean him being a griefer and being comfortable in this world can go hand in hand. But I don’t know I just get a sense there’s more to it than that, but that would be me if I were writing this story

I agree that Caine isn't malicious or anything. He seems like he is trying to make their lives at the circus as stimulating as possible but I don't think he is good at taking care of the minds of people. I kind of think of him as a guy taking of plants that just ends up over watering, too much sun, whatever blunders kill the plants happen but he just keeps getting more plants on his doorstep that he gladly takes in.
Yes, that was a Mad Max reference.
Oh hey the creators pulled a The Walking Dead with Gummigoo and what i mean by that is a character or characters would become likeable or really likeable and fans would get attached to them but then that character or those characters would end up being killed off eventually
For your question of what happens to their bodies, I dont think anything does. Kinger has supposedly been there for years, seems unlikely someone could support his body that long. I reckon theyre not living people but copies of their minds instead, hence why they cant even remember their own names - its a copy of the personality but not necessarily the memories. Feels a lot like that one black mirror episode, if you've seen it you'll know which one

I really enjoyed the episode. I don’t know what the consensus has been for it, but I thought there was a ton of great character writing in this one

I wonder if the reason Jax is so rude to everyone is he just saw enough people get abstracted, maybe a few close friends even.
I feel Chaos is his way of coping. Keeps him from thinking about his current position, a distraction.

Andy Kaufman was a guy who tricked audiences. He would Bill himself as a comedian, but the only person he entertained was himself and other comedians. He made jokes at the expense of the audience. He wasn't even a insult comic, he just messed with people.
So if kaufmo has anything to do with any kaufman, it's that. His jokes were never meant to make people laugh. That's why nobody laughed at his jokes.

I mean that’s how all my videos are 🤷♂️ At least the majority of them. You basically have to trick CZcams’s AI copyright detection. And unfortunately not everyone is on an even playing field. Lots of channels just get away with doing what they want, and then there’s channels like mine that gets blocks all the time on their videos

I really hope they have something planned for Jax, because right now I find him obnoxious to the point that I'm can't even tell if I'm meant to dislike every moment he's on screen or if it's just bad writing.
I think he’s meant to come off as obnoxious and mostly unlikeable at this stage. I wouldn’t be surprised if he ends having a ton of depth later on, so hopefully how he is now will pay off
im pretty sure we're not supposed to like him at the moment, community just likes him probably because "mean rabbit boy with an attitude haha"
@@ZillaYT. I mean yeah, but it's not even a fun attitude, he feels like somebody tried to make a "chaotic asshole" character without understanding what makes such characters work. I'm sure we'll get some background, I just hope it isn't a single episode that makes him vaguely sympathetic, after which he goes back to being the same jerk he was, because I've seen that play out multiple times.
@@ninjatoriumnova2483I think it’s just a situation where they made him as unlikable as possible and your going to see a moment later on showing you why he’s like that, and maybe it won’t come in a form of “redemption arc” but maybe him just being a bit less rude or slowly becoming less rude. (the popular theory right now is that he’s a NPC) I’m also seeing a lot people saying things like he wasn’t this bad in the pilot which isn’t true if you rewatch, he was a dick then as well. I think what your feeling is how they want you to feel, it’s a realistic hatred and not a likable bad boy that people like
In the pilot Jax was an asshole but there was a method to the madness. Keeping people angry at him so they don’t go crazy. Here he was just an asshole, full stop.
