Tremendous effort from Parker. Unbelievable season.
Came up short? She did a PB and came 4th among pros and Olympians. That was a good seasoning for her, she will do better next time.
She’s very brave leading a field of veterans, she ran well. She’s had a great season and we will definitely see more from her in the future, hopefully the 10k later this week!
Normal to be somewhat nervous, she gave it her all and did her best, a really great effort. congratulations on a great season.
Ran a gutsy race. Her strategy was perfect all gas no brakes from the gun but only problem was karissa, cranny and Ellie were too good.
Guys, do me a favor and sit these champs down at a table of their own and have good questions for like 10 minutes. Every single track or cross country interview is always rushed and often presents a "dang I'm sweating all over this camera, can I go now" mentality. Gotta figure out a way to break this barrier down if you want to give these athletes the shine they deserve. Parker is totally awesome, and I believe she could be way bigger if the coverage was better. Gotta figure out how to slow it down, and expect the athlete to also take a minute to want to be there and understand their role in all this.
If only the journalists could be as good at their job as she is at hers.
WHY NOT a different strategy for Valby since the top three (3) finishers just repeated how they ran in the semi-finals?
If and when she learns to run from behind the leader(s) instead of always being a front runner then greater things will happen.
That was a Prefontainian effort!
International Olympians did that to Pre, not Americans.
