5:34 Chromatic Sphere activates and resolves as a mana ability--the Yawgmoth player should not have had the chance to respond to the activation OR the resolution of that particular ability. If it were Chromatic Star, you would gain priority when the draw trigger occurs (but still cannot respond to the mana ability happening).

Similarly at 18:47 Yawgmoth guy says "I'll respond to the crack"--again, that's a mana ability, you do not get the opportunity to. However in this case, you COULD respond to the Chromatic Star's triggered ability to draw a card when it hits the graveyard.

Point of clarity on the draw step mechanic. The first thing that happens during the draw step is the active player draws. You do not have a chance to do anything in that phase prior to the card being drawn.

Playing bowmaster then chording is the same mana as just chording in that situation
