Dullstroom Birding & Game Viewing At Millstream Farm
Dullstroom is a delightful little town, in the middle of a highveld haven, which attracts so many bird and animal species in the surrounding areas. It is well known for boasting many wetland bird species including Gallinules, Crakes, Rails, Flufftails, Warblers and most importantly, the 3 Crane species that occur in South Africa.
Millstream is a well known Trout farm close to Dullstroom, and plays host to some special birds, as it is a large wetland area, and also has a lot of grassland for what many bird species call home. We recorded over 50 bird species in some challenging conditions. It was a great experience, and this is our second video from Millstream, and the first one filmed in the Summer months.
This video takes you on a 6 day journey where we looked for these bird species, and found some. Birding was our main aim, but we also saw some beautiful highveld wildlife, including a great sighting of a Serval (This beautiful small cat can be seen in the beginning of this video)! This was a special moment, because these small cats are crepuscular, but we saw this beautiful animal at mid-day. We also saw a variety of other mammals, which you can find in the description below.
