Agnetha is such a lovely & beautiful lady. The problem with ABBA is they really don’t realise how fantastic & iconic they are. Agatha - so modest - a true Scandinavian, nothing like Hollywood divas. Meanwhile every human on Earth has ABBA ingrained into their personalities.
As I watch this for probably the 10 time over the past four years, this time is very special for one reason. Because today Sept 6th 2021 Agnetha is back with Abba and the release of their two new songs happened 4 days ago. Something even she truly believed would never happen again. But here we are now. And the millions upon millions of fans all over the world are rejoicing with tears and disbelief that a dream has come true. My life had meaning again after hearing their new songs. The girls voices are magnificent. And Bennys composition and Bjorns lyrics are pure Abba magic once again. Even the words Agnetha sings in "Dont Shut Me Down" are as if she is telling us all. She's back. In a different form and not quite the same as before, but keep an open mind. Dont Shut Her Down. I read into it that she is happy to do it again(Abba) and its because of the Love she has for all of her bandmates and of course.....us.How great is this moment in Music History.❤🇸🇪❤🇸🇪❤🇸🇪
Agnetha has a healthy attitude about her ABBA years. I think Frida nailed it. The song "The Winner Takes It All" is most likely about them as a group and individuals. It is much deeper than a simple divorce song. You can tell that they could still make great music in the 80's but they were not the fun, playful group that they once were. It was fun but they were done being ABBA. It was just natural for the artists to move on. Their music was and is great. Together they are superstars. They proved that they are one of the top groups of all times not only with their success in the 70's but coming back after decades with a highly successful play and movie Mama Mia and now Voyage. Thank you for the music ABBA.
Unfortunately, those may be the very reasons Bjorn left her. Men can only take angelic, innocent, naive , soft girls in small dozes. Then, they want women that are also sexual.
@@scottluther2091 there's nothing in her body language that suggest that. If we found out that she was a frigid, I wouldn't be surprised at all. Bjorn, on the other hand, is a different animal. It's such a shame , because I really like her and sort of dislike him, but body language does not lie. Frida, as opposed to Agnetha was definitely sexual, that was not the issue between her and Benny. I think there was about Benny wanting children and Frida already had hers and not wanting to have more.
Glad I was born in the early 70s to hear all the icons of still today giving it stacks!!!..granted a few of my more favoured stars have already passed??..but I'll still always have ABBA!!
Her voice is still very strong and beautiful after hearing a cut of her new solo album. Amazingly beautiful voice and such a down to earth humble person. That is so refreshing! And she has aged beautifully as well of course!

What a beautiful classy woman. I really can feel her pain. I feel she was really in love Bjorn Ulvaeus and things have never been the same since they divorced. I listen to Abbas music during that era she was dealing with alot of the serious events at that time I hope it helped her work through it. Living that kind of life for the entire band had to be so hard on every part of thier lives..mentally, physically, emotionally, how can you have a family life being on tour all the time? I really feel for them...and my heart aches for the sad times they faced. Just like my fellow brothers and sisters who serve all around the globe in our precious military I share a bond with them even though I have not met them. I am hoping we as people can share the cup of life and keep a hope in our hearts that we can have love and respect and become better for ourselves....our familys....friends....neighbors...our world....let's celebrate peace, happiness, contentment, great health, affection, acceptance, and most of all Love....we can never have enough....let's enjoy the good that is ours....

Agnetha is a very talented vocalist. SHE LOOKS LIKE a very beautiful person. No age, only her voice and Frida's. Everybody knows her exceptional talent to sing in an unusual form that made songs so magic, moving. I wish my most favourite singer a lot of Joy, health & happiness. The interviewing was not bad, in the end Agnetha was tired( a little) of not quite correct questions.
The fact that at the end Vordeman says she mentioned to Agnetha that she was so much more attractive than Bjorn Ulvaeus was as a man just goes to show how vacuous Vordeman is. Does she not appreciate looks are not everything in real love?. I truly hope she has long regretted that stupid remark. Agnetha, on the other hand, pure class.

Watching this interview today, 11 September 2021.......... Listening to Agnetha's answer at 8.29 - Even she didn't see ABBA joining up again to release not one song, not two songs, but a whole brand new album of new music! And even a brand new SHOW!!!!! I was a young teenager when ABBA broke out with their hit song Waterloo, and I have been a huge fan of their brilliant music ever since. And they have just proved that as a band and the lovely people they also are, they are eternal!!!

"There's no way I think"....haha, so glad so was wrong on that one. I can't wait for their new music. Even if it's not some big hit songs I just love the fact that they all came together and worked creatively again. Just to hear their voices together for I think over 45 years will be so interesting. They will probably still sound great, as they are all blessed individuals and very down to earth people. They have just been minding their buisness and enjoyed the fruit of their work, basicly staying away from the spotlight, but the music was so strong they just keep being relevant and celebrated to this day. Finally on their own terms and probably devine timing, they get back together to do a few songs. They where supposed to release it last year but then covid happened, I'm sure it gave them alot of time to refine their songs, and also they came up with like 3 new songs because of it. Can't wait

I would like to see the interview with Eric Faulkner on lose woman,the ladies are right,as much as you would like to see your band members,it's not the 1970s,like agnetha said they are older like all bands from those times,it's not the same and can't be the same,like Eric Faulkner said,he just wants to be left alone now,and that's more then feat enough,play your records,you can still get the bay city rollers show,gold discs,the memories of those times,more simpler times,alot of fun,love those times.
As great a singer as she is the magic has gone, it happens to many singers from successful groups, when they go it alone the Charisma is no longer there. It’s the affinity ( love ) inside the group that brings out the best in them, once it’s broken there’s no going back. Rather sad quite frankly. She’s still a wonderful person.
Agnetha has matured and, if you hadn't noticed, there wasn't much love in the group from 1979 onwards, despite which they produced some of their best material right up until the end. "Rather sadly" I suspect you don't recognise class when you see it.
@@Robbocop I am afraid I have to say I think it was the deteriorating relationship between Agnetha and Anni-Frid. We hear tales of her and Bjorn not being able to be in the same room anymore but don't forget they had two children and so were inextricably linked. There would be repercussions for the children if they gave in to a state of 'cold war'. I don't much care for Anni-Frid Lyngstad and I have tried but there is something cold and remote about her. I think Agnetha could not continue to put up with effectively being bullied by Frida. So she quit and without her it collapsed.
@@nickg5010 It's interesting that you say that about Anni-Frid because many, many ABBA fans who've met her say she is very friendly and of the four group members, was the one most likely to stay and sign autographs, have her picture taken, etc. According to accounts, Agnetha and Frida actually became closer with the divorces. They leant on each-other for support. An example is when there was a kidnapping threat made to Agnetha and Bjorn's children. ABBA took it so seriously that they cancelled a promotion trip to Germany. This was 1980 and those kids were living with just Agnetha so she was extremely worried. Frida offered that they all come to stay at her house where her children as well as Benny's kids lived for added security. There was NO bullying and it is frankly insulting to Agnetha to paint her so weak and timid. So maybe your perceptions of both these women is off the mark. ABBA ended because it had simply run it's course. They were all separated and keen to start other projects. Frida was actually the first to embark on a solo album before ABBA even effectively disbanded. Agnetha would follow the year after. Benny and Bjorn had long held ambitions to move into musical theatre so ABBA's 'break' was a mutual agreement of all four. Ten years at the top is good going for any band, especially a Pop group.
@@chelseacharger I have reached the point where I no longer care. I met Agnetha and I think I can say without fear of contradiction she was (and for that matter still is) not friendly. If Frida gave her a hard time, I am now inclined to say 'Good - because she is an insufferable snob!' I maintain it was she who walked away leaving them with a half finished album. She is contemptuous of the Abba fan-base, hence the jerking of them around over the new material and the launch of the Abbatars.
@@nickg5010 Wow. I can't speak for your own experiences. Shyness can often be misinterpreted for aloofness. I think that shelved final album in 1982 was more a combination of the split between Frida and Benny (The Visitors had been hard going too) and the boys simply losing inspiration for more Pop music. Plus the girls had already embarked on making solo albums again. The Abbatar project and its delays have largely not been the fault of the group themselves. I think the whole concept was mainly pushed by Bjorn and Benny who along with Universal/Polar went into partnership with Simon Fullers organisation to present the new songs. I believe there was some change in the firm producing the holograms/avatars which delayed things. Then the pandemic hit. The initial songs have long been recorded. It's just that contracts have been signed and the new songs are tied into these Abbatars being ready. The group themselves have probably been as frustrated as the fans in not being able to release these songs. But there are big rumours that a benefit of the delays is that more new songs have been recorded with five or even a whole album worth. Four weeks ago, the official ABBA website started a daily countdown of each of the group's songs released starting from the earliest and that has been interpreted as leading to the launch date of this project. If true, we can expect the release of at least the first song in late August/early September. And hopefully the restrictions associated with covid will have been fully lifted by then too. Sorry that you feel exasperated but after all the lockdowns and restrictions, new ABBA music will be a timely welcome by many. And if it's resulted in more than just two songs, then delay was worth it imo.

@@Mario-xr3jo Yeah, the ABBA avatar movie took longer to make, than they anticipated. And then came corona, so they had to postpone yet again. I'm sure it'll be worth the wait. We've waited so far for 3 years, so what's another 5-6 months? Got chills running up and down my spine right now. 😎

I would like to see the interview with Eric Faulkner on lose woman,the ladies are right,as much as you would like to see your band members,it's not the 1970s,like agnetha said they are older like all bands from those times,it's not the same and can't be the same,like Eric Faulkner said,he just wants to be left alone now,and that's more then feat enough,play your records,you can still get the bay city rollers show,gold discs,the memories of those times,more simpler times,alot of fun,love those times.

I don't think I could have divorced her and kept working beside her everyday, that had to be very tough to do.
As great a singer as she is the magic has gone, it happens to many singers from successful groups, when they go it alone the Charisma is no longer there.
It’s the affinity ( love ) inside the group that brings out the best in them, once it’s broken there’s no going back. Rather sad quite frankly.
She’s still a wonderful person.
Agnetha has matured and, if you hadn't noticed, there wasn't much love in the group from 1979 onwards, despite which they produced some of their best material right up until the end. "Rather sadly" I suspect you don't recognise class when you see it.
@@Robbocop I am afraid I have to say I think it was the deteriorating relationship between Agnetha and Anni-Frid. We hear tales of her and Bjorn not being able to be in the same room anymore but don't forget they had two children and so were inextricably linked. There would be repercussions for the children if they gave in to a state of 'cold war'.
I don't much care for Anni-Frid Lyngstad and I have tried but there is something cold and remote about her. I think Agnetha could not continue to put up with effectively being bullied by Frida. So she quit and without her it collapsed.
@@nickg5010 It's interesting that you say that about Anni-Frid because many, many ABBA fans who've met her say she is very friendly and of the four group members, was the one most likely to stay and sign autographs, have her picture taken, etc. According to accounts, Agnetha and Frida actually became closer with the divorces. They leant on each-other for support. An example is when there was a kidnapping threat made to Agnetha and Bjorn's children. ABBA took it so seriously that they cancelled a promotion trip to Germany. This was 1980 and those kids were living with just Agnetha so she was extremely worried. Frida offered that they all come to stay at her house where her children as well as Benny's kids lived for added security. There was NO bullying and it is frankly insulting to Agnetha to paint her so weak and timid. So maybe your perceptions of both these women is off the mark.
ABBA ended because it had simply run it's course. They were all separated and keen to start other projects. Frida was actually the first to embark on a solo album before ABBA even effectively disbanded. Agnetha would follow the year after. Benny and Bjorn had long held ambitions to move into musical theatre so ABBA's 'break' was a mutual agreement of all four. Ten years at the top is good going for any band, especially a Pop group.

I met Agnetha and I think I can say without fear of contradiction she was (and for that matter still is) not friendly.
If Frida gave her a hard time, I am now inclined to say 'Good - because she is an insufferable snob!' I maintain it was she who walked away leaving them with a half finished album. She is contemptuous of the Abba fan-base, hence the jerking of them around over the new material and the launch of the Abbatars.
@@nickg5010 Wow. I can't speak for your own experiences. Shyness can often be misinterpreted for aloofness. I think that shelved final album in 1982 was more a combination of the split between Frida and Benny (The Visitors had been hard going too) and the boys simply losing inspiration for more Pop music. Plus the girls had already embarked on making solo albums again.
The Abbatar project and its delays have largely not been the fault of the group themselves. I think the whole concept was mainly pushed by Bjorn and Benny who along with Universal/Polar went into partnership with Simon Fullers organisation to present the new songs. I believe there was some change in the firm producing the holograms/avatars which delayed things. Then the pandemic hit. The initial songs have long been recorded. It's just that contracts have been signed and the new songs are tied into these Abbatars being ready. The group themselves have probably been as frustrated as the fans in not being able to release these songs. But there are big rumours that a benefit of the delays is that more new songs have been recorded with five or even a whole album worth. Four weeks ago, the official ABBA website started a daily countdown of each of the group's songs released starting from the earliest and that has been interpreted as leading to the launch date of this project. If true, we can expect the release of at least the first song in late August/early September. And hopefully the restrictions associated with covid will have been fully lifted by then too.
Sorry that you feel exasperated but after all the lockdowns and restrictions, new ABBA music will be a timely welcome by many. And if it's resulted in more than just two songs, then delay was worth it imo.
