  • In August of 2022, I made a video talking about why I decided to give 3D printing a try ( • Why Now is a Good Time... ). In the months since then, I've printed dozens of models and learned a fair bit about the process. So, have I become a full on 3D printbro? Watch to find out.

Most of my minis use a lot of Pro Acryl by Monument Hobbies. If you're thinking about picking some up, use the following link and the code Manningthefort to get a bit of a discount and help out the channel.

My favorite resin is Siryiatech ABS like fast 8k navy grey. It's not cheap (36ish USD per kg) but it's tough as nails and survives drops REALLY well

Damn drops. I’ve broken so many spears, swords and hands. Will give this stuff a shot.

Just got mine and totally doing frostgrave warbands for my brother send nephews. Current faves are the OPR , PrintMinis, and Artisan Guild for 5 parsecs, space station zero and frostrgrave. Figuring out a workflow is important, especially for safety, but definitely a worthwhile addition to the hobby. Thanks for the video!

OPR and PrintMinis were two of the first ones I signed up for. I'm loving the OPR Ratmen and how they're more Redwall than Skaven.

@@MTFTabletop Ratmen were the first things I printed! That and a few tos star trek from modiphius. This gizmo has positively contributed to my hobby experience.

As GW continues with more unnecessary price hikes, locking away wanted new characters in boxed sets and general anti consumerist practices 3D printing becomes the right way to enjoy the games you like. I'd love to see someone make a 3D printed version of Advanced Space Crusade or Epic 40k, it's totally doable!

The biggest reason for myself getting a resin printer was being able to print/paint bigger minis (75mm+) just because, honestly. Buying minis of that size is expensive as f*ck.
Do I use it for other stuff, yeah ofc, but whenever I can, I'll be using my FDM one instead. Why? Simply because it's just SO much easier to use. And there's no problems with dangerous vapors, liquids etc.
But saying that 3D printing isn't a hobby in itself, don't know if I'll agree on that part. :)
Is resin 3D printing part of the future of tabletop/war games, oh yeah. But! I don't think it'll make any real dent until they made it atleast as safe and easy to use as FDM printing.
Oh, and worst print fail so far. FEP film penetration. Cleaning up that mess is NO BUENO! :'(
    Keep up the good work!

Oof. A ruptured FEP would indeed be no bueno.

Thanks! I'm adding on to the script for the next round of STL sub highlights, since I just signed up for a new one and really like it :)
