One question from this video lesson. I made a sentence and I'd like to know if this is ok or there is a better way to say it.
"Grandpa and grandma aren't home. They must have gone for a walk in the neighborhood. "
I have never listened to anyone explaining the present perfect tense that good before. I always had an issue about understanding the difference in the meaning between the sentences written in the present perfect and the simple past tense until now.

How long have I been learning English? I was 14 when I started to attend high school and that time it was a must to learn two languages including Russian. The other language can be chosen freely. I wanted to learn English but my mom (of course) got me to choose German. I ended up in a class where everyone wanted to learn English - at least this is what they chose to learn. I was a bit happy because I didn't have to study German what I didn't like as I didn't like Russian. However the teacher was a Russian lady who barely spoke Hungarian. She didn't take English seriously or taught the grammar properly, so later on, I always straggled with the grammar. Later on, I just got the same type of English teacher than her. I had been learning on my own a lot. I studied words, phrases, sentences. I went through the grammar even though I didn't understand it (not even in Hungarian). I watched music clips and lstened to English video about one of my favorite band, Aerosmith. It was the Making of Pump, an album where Joe Perry speaks a lot. Then I listened it over and over again and I realized that I understand much more than the beginning. In 1999, I got a chance to move to the US where I had stayed for 9 years. I went to an evening school for half a year and this was the time my English is improved a lot. I didn't even realize that how much passive vocabulary I had that time. I went through the grammar pretty strictly. I learned the past participle forms of the irregular verbs. When I came back to Hungary, I committed more mistakes in Hungarian than in English. I wouldn't like to forget English totally. Unluckily I can't use it anywhere. So I have been learning English on and off for 31 years. I understand what you are saying - okay, sometimes you say a word what I don't understand but I can figure it out from the context. I learned to be a massage therapist in the US, so I learned that vocabulary back then too. When I was watching films or reading English books, there wwas plenty of words what I didn't understand, though. Slang and idioms.
Thank you for your lucidness.
Glad you enjoyed the lesson. đ
Iâve watched a few of your video, they are great!!

Hi,I'm Olga, from Moscow. Thank you for the lesson. I've been trying to find an answer for one question for several years and I haven't succeeded yet. Frankly speaking it prevents me from my further studies. Two examples from two films. You may remember this scine from "My Fair Lady". Profeesor asks Eliza about marbels wich she has in her mouth. "What happened?" - " I swolled it". Why is the PS used, when the result is so obviously important? Another film "Persuasion". A boy broke his collarbone Doctor "What happened?" - Aunt " He fell from the tree". So, he really did it, but result is important now! Please, heip me to overcome these questions.
I've studied English actively since a couple of days.
Dad has brought Manago Cake for me.
I've been to Cambodia with friends.
He has eaten all the food.

I have just watched your lesson , and i wonder how easy method you teaching us english, frankly you are the best, bless you
keep up sir
please teacher whish one is correct : I've been studing english for three year, or I've studied english for three year,
Thanks so much Bob! I'm glad you enjoyed the lesson. And thanks for sharing a sentence with us. In your example, you can use either the present perfect or present perfect continuous. They have very similar meanings. The only slight difference is that the present perfect continuous implies the that activity is very likely to continue into the future. Therefore, if you continue studying English, it's more precise to use the present perfect continuous (I've been studying English for three years.) But either is okay. đđ
thanks a million teacher
Very good lesson
Glad you enjoyed the lesson. đ

Hi Wes, I wonder how common it is to use present perfect twice with SINCE. I found a few examples in Cambridge Dictionary.
They haven't received any junk mail since they have moved house.
It has been years since she has ridden a bike.
Why use present perfect twice with since? What is the difference between
'It has been years since she rode a bike' and 'It's been years since she has ridden a bike?'
I have understood use of present perfect now .
Excellent!
