As a City fan, it is CRIMINAL not having Rodri in the list. I like Haaland a lot, but for me, he doesn't deserve it over Rodri and as such, I'd drop him and put Rodri on the list and same goes for VVD - I'd drop him and put Saliba there who I think edges Gabriel as he seems to be the calming force in that robust backline.

How has Gabby not Arteta as manager of the season? Arsenal were not expected to compete last year and throughout this season the media has said Arsenal had no chance of competing again? Arteta had big pressure to get the most out of the team with huge investment last summer. Pep having City possibly winning again is amazing yes, but also is it not expected? Arteta and Arsenal also managed to stay as challengers even with added pressure from Liverpool this season too.

Arteta should be the best manager, best defensive record and attack, didn't lose to any of the traditional top six, and he beat each and everyone of them, poor officiating is just the reason why Arsenal are not at the top, it is very clear that Arsenal hate is real, giving Arteta 3rd best after the performance of Arsenal, a team that went toe to toe with Bayern that Madrid find it hard to beat, shows that Arsenal were not far from getting too the finals and poor officiating again cost them that opportunity, the hate is so much I won't be surprised if Arsenal wins the EPL, everyone would say they were lucky, and try to play it down as if it is nothing, like they have been doing all season. As a Liverpool fan, I completely agree with Terry.. Virgil Van Djik should be no where near this list. Liverpool have been trailing in more than half the games this season and no Liverpool player should be on the list. But at the same time, this debate could happen in, if not all of these list, most of them. There are always players that are left off the list that someone could argue should be on the list. You mentioned Gabriel, Salbia, Rodri etc... but if the list was made and only had Arsenal and City players then there would have been another debate about players from other teams should be considered.

Arsenal have the best attacking and defensive stats yet there's only room for Rice and Odegaard? Saliba and Gabriel MUST be involved, Saka needs a mention but according to the media he's had a poor season, the stats say otherwise. Benjamin White has been so consistent too. I don't expect there to be 7 or 8 players but certainly more than just the 2.
