This is not a shocker, you tear it down, build, spend about 1.5 mil on the build plus the buy price of about 2 mil =3.5 mil you then sell for about 5 mil. Easy.

An even smaller house in Mountain View with nearly half the lot size sold for exactly this price last week. This one has a low asking price to attract more bidders.

My working class aunt and uncle bought in the 1970’s in San Jose. Raised a family. Currently, their street only has them and one other original resident. The two households own their home. The rest on their cul de sac are rentals with multiple adult professionals living in one house. Ridiculous! That used to be a working class neighborhood. My aunt and uncle worked for a trucking company.

Yup 1974, the year of my birth, my parents bought their home in San Bruno for $25,000. And there was no need to get a 30 year mortgage for it either... adjusting for inflation that translates to about $170k today. They are now gone, but yeah needless to say that's how I became a millionaire.

Unfortunately those living in the back of a Prius don't understand they can DRIVE to some place affordable, and it's super cheap too with the mileage that car gets! But noooooooooooo they're going to wait it out hoping prices come down, news flash: they won't, and in the mean time turn the area into a shittier area for those who can afford to live here.

gross. they will develop that land into a huge house no one really needs that backs up intrusively into the neighbors yard and windows. its what those dev's do. It would be so nice if they built something like a normal ranch style house with a nice yard and greenery. but that would give people around them, and potential buyers not enough braggadociousness and actual peace. I haven't seen a really beautiful home made with the pragmatic and eloquent style of yesteryear in decades. They all look a little tacky and no charm. California ranch styles, Victorian, American Craftsmanship like Frank Lloyd W style, and English tutors should really make a comeback. Ane within reasonable size. People need class and greenery back.

@@user-fl6ko9do5y 110K poverty level lol times have changed, unfortunately, so if a married couple each making 110K put down on a 600K-750K home, they will barely afford it, but that's 110K. So if you pull a 300-400K salary each, a 1-2 million dollar home is easy.

We can so easily speak of “unfair advantage” when s as young man identifies as a woman and competes against other women in sports.. but these instances are few and far between.. And also inconsequential compared to the egregious imbalance in economic policy from general to generation, the gains made in equity value and the taxes remaining low due to prop 13, and the huge unfair economic advantage between generations now. That is not inconsequential and affects basically everyone. ❤
