Breaking news: Silicon Valley expensive to live in. Back to you in the studio
This is not a shocker, you tear it down, build, spend about 1.5 mil on the build plus the buy price of about 2 mil =3.5 mil you then sell for about 5 mil. Easy.
People love high paying jobs, but complain when housing near them is expensive...😂
An even smaller house in Mountain View with nearly half the lot size sold for exactly this price last week. This one has a low asking price to attract more bidders.
My working class aunt and uncle bought in the 1970’s in San Jose. Raised a family. Currently, their street only has them and one other original resident. The two households own their home. The rest on their cul de sac are rentals with multiple adult professionals living in one house. Ridiculous! That used to be a working class neighborhood. My aunt and uncle worked for a trucking company.
Yup 1974, the year of my birth, my parents bought their home in San Bruno for $25,000. And there was no need to get a 30 year mortgage for it either... adjusting for inflation that translates to about $170k today. They are now gone, but yeah needless to say that's how I became a millionaire.
I am interested in the house. But from a squatter's perspective.
😂
😂
In California you can only afford to live in the back of a Prius…
im not living in the back of a prius, ive got a house, fake news.
I owen a 2500 square foot house in the silicoln valley.
@@superlativeopulence Owen?
ok ghost@@theghostoftravel
Unfortunately those living in the back of a Prius don't understand they can DRIVE to some place affordable, and it's super cheap too with the mileage that car gets! But noooooooooooo they're going to wait it out hoping prices come down, news flash: they won't, and in the mean time turn the area into a shittier area for those who can afford to live here.
in Thailand u can live with that money like a god
Not surprising at all. It's a teardown. You're buying lot size and location near very high-paying jobs.
Did the buyer's agent really say 32-36,000 sq ft home? What are we building skyscrapers here?
That's a rich neighborhood its freaking Silicon Valley where all the tech billionaires and their employees live what were you expecting? If you're looking for affordable housing you have to go to Oakland, Richmond, Vallejo and further up north.
I still get awestruck by California home prices. It’s the Wild West 2024
Society is failing. Prime example.
That's roughly a $11,545 monthly mortgage payment.... I'm genuinely confused where all the people actually live with those kind of prices.
Cupertino, Los Altos and Saratoga are the most premium / prestigious location is South Bay, so this of not surprising at all.
36,000 sq feet home. That's probably 3 times the size of dirty diddys house in the Hollywood hills
I feel very happy for the seller.
The potential buyer is buying the lot, not just the house. Nothing here but a free advertisement for the seller.
The cost to avoid the consequences of the civil rights act.
gross. they will develop that land into a huge house no one really needs that backs up intrusively into the neighbors yard and windows. its what those dev's do. It would be so nice if they built something like a normal ranch style house with a nice yard and greenery. but that would give people around them, and potential buyers not enough braggadociousness and actual peace. I haven't seen a really beautiful home made with the pragmatic and eloquent style of yesteryear in decades. They all look a little tacky and no charm. California ranch styles, Victorian, American Craftsmanship like Frank Lloyd W style, and English tutors should really make a comeback. Ane within reasonable size. People need class and greenery back.
That lot size in Corona Del Mar would be worth closer to $2.5 million.
couldn't pay me to live in cupertino....sorry.
@1:38 the guy doesn't know the difference between 3600 and 36,000 sq ft, thats your buyers agent???
That’s pathetic. It looks like a $300,000 house in the real world.
WHY IS HE LAUGHING!
to the bank girl, to the bank.
@user-fl6ko9do😂😂😂5y
These insane prices are mainly due to supply and demand constraints. Get rid of Prop 13 and ease the zoning laws. That’s the only way to create a more level playing field.
This is totally removed from reality!
this is a commercial
Yeah, $2M for a lot of that size and location is about right. Plunk down a $1.5M 3,500 sqft house and you’ve got a $4.5-5M property. Not bad.
ABC news got some interns from middle west?
LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION. everyone on earth wants to live in the S.F. Bay Area jobs everywhere you look average pay 110,000 nice weather year round. everyone I know that is living in the bay area is living high on the hog. and the value of their homes keep going up by the day with no end in sight.
dude, 110,000 is poverty level there. you can't buy shizer for that pay. if you make 90k or lower your kids qualify for free lunch.
@@user-fl6ko9do5y 110K poverty level lol times have changed, unfortunately, so if a married couple each making 110K put down on a 600K-750K home, they will barely afford it, but that's 110K. So if you pull a 300-400K salary each, a 1-2 million dollar home is easy.
$110000? 😂 per month may be
@@Kokopellli chicken feed.
@@user-fl6ko9do5y I love your response. Made me smile.
a little bit LOW?!
Perfect for migrants
We can so easily speak of “unfair advantage” when s as young man identifies as a woman and competes against other women in sports.. but these instances are few and far between.. And also inconsequential compared to the egregious imbalance in economic policy from general to generation, the gains made in equity value and the taxes remaining low due to prop 13, and the huge unfair economic advantage between generations now. That is not inconsequential and affects basically everyone. ❤
Democrat leadership the poor get poorer the rich get richer
more and more BS!!
You have no idea what you are talking about. That lot can build a 4 million dollar house.
Rewatch 1:37 ya turkey
