I have the same tower on the same base. It was a pain to get the sections together. I used a come along to pull my pieces together after my wife and I lined them up and my dog helped too.
I enjoyed your video. I like how you showed how things are never as easy as they look. A lot of people who make CZcams videos would have cut out 90% of it and made it look like everything went together just as easy as could be. Thank you for your honesty. N9CM
When I was 20, I erected a 70’ tower with a gin pole, it was a chore, but man, it was great! I’m 65 now, and my neck hurts just looking up that high! Ignore the trolls on here, you did fine. Thing is, every new thing we do is a learning experience. I guess I need to look for your next video to see how you stand it up. I helped a buddy with a 38’ hinged tower and he mounted a boat winch about 10’ on 4x4. That thing bowed and creaked and scared the heck out of us, but we finally got it! Besides having a nice ya girl beam, you’re gonna love having your antennas mounted on that tower! It’s a great place to hang inverted vees and slopers from. Just get a kid to do your aerial work! Thanks for making this video. As for the bolt holes all Rohn tower sections are each double drilled: 1/4" and 5/16" hole pairs, at each joint. Many theories as to why but that's just how they roll. I ordered all new rohn bolt sets from DX Engineering for mine because they were designed for these towers and not all bolt specs are equal in terms of different brands and material. I used silicone spray lube to put my sections together. If you have a preowned tower you may need to use a good solid steel rod to re-round the legs if bolts were previously over torqued. Someone used a steel 4-way lug wrench to do this by driving one end into the leg opening. Be safe.
I bought the tower new it come with the bolts I think it was galvanized too heavy at some of the ends is the only thing I could figure out thank you for watching the video next week I hope to do parks on the air and make some more videos of ham radio

I know I'm late to the party.... I take down 25G towers monthly and have put a few together... Nice tower, a few thoughts on video and advice for others. Grease and PB Blaster help.. forcing that one section at the end will be a pain when it comes time for removal in 20-30 year. 1. So for anyone else putting up towers, please grease the ends with something thick that wont wash off easily. (if you are fighting it, realign) 2. please don't DRILL or make the holes larger, Rohn has a standard of two sizes per leg and everything is engineered expecting those bolts. If the holes don't line up, adjust the 3 legs and use a NAIL PUNCH or screw driver to help align them. 3. Strap tighten.. please be careful when pulling on the cross members, I've climbed many towers that have bent or even missing rungs because of install abuse. If you have to use a strap, something is not lining up, sometimes sections just may not fit and you swap it for different one. If you do need to tightening please use axle straps around the main legs several times to shift the torque to the strongest piece of the tower. 4. bolts should match the tower, if rohn thats Grade 5 Galvanized. Stainless it nice but has mild corrisions issues (nice bolts, rusted tower). 5. Passive anode protection, 1 1/4in ID magnesium anodes will prevent rust for decades and extend tower life if done early or at construction. my 2 cents and advice, Ken KN4MDJ
Piece of wood on the dynamic end and not the static end would have worked better. I had the same issue where some of the galvanized coating is thicker and makes it difficult. Beating on the fixed or static end does little good
Hope you coated the legs with anti-seize before sliding them together. I have built and torn down many towers and doing this makes taking them apart much easier.
I just put my 40ft Rohn 25g tower together yesterday It wasn’t fun either as I greased the legs and had to use a ratchet strap to force them together. Now I have to figure out how to tilt it up. KE5MUG

It Wards when I stood it up you can see that it is crooked here in the near future I'm going to be running all the coax in pvc conduit and maybe adding a couple of more sections to a tower when I do I'm going to try to pull it apart and fix it
You should try to let gravity and a gin pole do the work for you. Would have been alot easier for you other then you would have to climb the tower then
Thank you I stood another pole up beside it and buried in concrete I had to raise that Tower up first before I could stand the pole up I put a winch on it 2 raised to the Tower then I put a strap on top of that pole and tied off to my truck to keep it from raining over heck no I am not climbing Towers no more I barely can watch videos of people climbing them lol
Yeah I tried that in a different video and it didn't seem to help in the near future I'm going to take it back down and pull it apart and try to get the bow out of the Tower maybe you some anti-seize or something on it

Using a "come-along" and a small bottle jack to help align the legs works well.

I fell your pain, I assembly and disassemble an antenna tower for a emergency command post quite often and haven' found an easy way yet.
Maybe rub the inserting ends with a wax candle to get'em to slide easier?
Love the dog, very playful. If you had put Vaseline on the joints, would have went together much easier.

How did you raise it?
Take the end blue bucket out Get at the end and wiggle the tower section up and down and back and forth. Use some wd40 if needed.
How do you figure the load on raising cable?

take a ratchet strap and pull the two sections together it works I know, that is how I did mine.

Huge mistake drilling out that tower. It will fail in time. You compromised the strength and integrity.
