    I just saw the movie a couple of days ago. Lt. Falcon should have been Flint's brother and not Duke's. That would have made more sense because they resembled each other, Flint and Falcon both wore berets, and their codenames started with "F."

    Lt. Falcon is one of my fave Joes and I hated it that the 1987 movie misrepresented him.
    Anybody who’s read his filecard would know straightoff that anyone who passed the US Special Forces Assessment and Selection Course, its following Qualification Course (which includes the Robin Sage wargame) and qualified for Blue Light, with the rank of a 1st Lieutenant would never be considered for the G. I. Joe Team if his record was ‘a shameful parade of insubordination and gross dereliction of duty.’ *
    Moreover, that would cast aspersions on Duke, given that the movie tried to make viewers believe he was Falcon’s half brother. Why? Because it implied that the reason he was part of the Rawhides was because Duke greased the wheels, given Falcon’s cartoon record.
    Guess that’s why Larry Hama had him play a major role in the Cobra Civil War (Marvel’s G. I. Joe #s 72-78), if only to give a kick in the teeth to the writer of the shoddy G. I. Joe: The Movie.
    * Refer to:
    From O. S. S. to Green Berets by Col. Aaron Bank
    Delta Force by Col. Charles A. Beckwith
    Secret Armies by James Adams
    Special Forces: A Guided Tour of U. S. Special Forces by Tom Clancy.
    NB: Blue Light existed. It was a provisional anti terrorist unit which was an offshoot of the 5th Special Forces Group Airborne by Col. Bob Mountel to serve as a stopgap while Col. Charles Beckwith assembled Delta.
    It was later ordered deactivated and disbanded by Pres. Jimmy Carter and US Army Chief of Staff Bernard Rogers when the latter during a meeting at Ft. Bragg with Col. Beckwith that Blue Light was using Delta’s funding, plus the fact that the CO of both the JFK Center (Gen. Jack Mackmull) and the head of XVIIIth Airborne Corps (Gen. Volney Warner) barred the Green Berets, Rangers and Airborne from volunteering to be part of Delta.

They also did a crappy job with the voice-over when they through in that Duke went into a coma and at the end when Doc said, "Hey guys, Duke is out of his coma." Kids are not stupid. We all know that no one ever dies in G.I. Joe cartoons. Yeah, I was hurt when Prime died, but it gave the story more meaning. I try to ignore that edit in the G.I. Joe movie, but that's just me.
