    My grandfather was an engineer/test driver/tech writer. He worked for Chrysler during ww2 and drove tanks on the proving grounds. Most of his career, he worked for Chevrolet, retiring in the late 70's. He told me that a 1969 4 speed manual 396 Nova was the strongest car he ever tested. Ever.

    I have one if these Nova’s. Their weak point is narrow rear wheel wells and small tires. Mine is mini tubbed so that solved that problem.

    Fun fact: the “375hp” 396 was wrote that way on paper for insurance reasons. In actuality on a dyno it laid down a solid 400+.

      He did not say it was an M22. The option sheet shown at the end of the video clearly shows M20 in box number 3 on the second line. That is the regular-duty, wide-ratio 4-speed, not an M21 close-ratio 4-speed or the M22 heavy-duty, wide-ratio 4-speed.

      @@ironhorse127 Agree to disagree. The M22 is very rare and desired so don’t you think if it was an M22 they would have clearly mentioned it in the video or listed it in the description? There’s no way to know for sure by just watching and listening to this video. It could just as easily be a gear drive cam timing set.

    The mileage that you have listed for some of your cars and trucks is incorrect. On American cars with a 5-digit odometer when the last digit sets higher than the others that indicates it has been rolled at least once. For example, the 1972 Ford F100 Ranger would have at least 137256 miles, not 37256.

    • @NovaResource
      @NovaResource Před 8 měsíci +1

      @@kevinbender1754Steve is correct. In-dash tach was optional. To get it you had to have the floor console because the tach replaced the fuel gauge in the dash so the fuel gauge was moved to the console. To get the floor console you had to have bucket seats. So any Nova with a bench could not get the optional gauge package with the in-dash tach.
