@benrogers what jontay porter did, questions the integrity of the result in nba games. if its fixed no one will watch. Thats why they will make an example out of Jontay Porter because he is a nobody and it costs the NBA nothing if he is banned.
The BIGGER EXAMPLE you make out of Jontay with a very Stiff punishment, it sends the MESSAGE to other players in the future, you should not bet on nba games because this can happen to you. It is what it is.
Also they are not gonna ban jontay on circumstancial evidence. There were at least 2 incidents of jontay props irregularities. I am sure after the 1st irregularity they called the nba, and the nba called in the FBI to investigate. That means monitoring Jontay calls and emails, as well as checking his financial situation and seeing if there are any big deposits, or if he is sending money off shore or converting it to crypto.. So if Jontay did it a second time, they likely have evidence of sports betting if he was sloppy, cuz its likely the FBI was involved after the 1st incident. Silver hinting he may life time ban Jontay, may be a hint on the evidence the FBI has on the case.

If Silver wants to address it make a rule for each and every player. It is easy to take Porter off the court but would be a whole other issue if it was a star player being "accused". @@IceManLikeGervin the thing Jontae was gambling with in this scenario was his career indirectly...some of you guys keep trying to make this a trigger word thing by using the term over and over again of he has a "gambling addiction"...lets call it how it is...man was making doo doo ass money for playing in the NBA (roughly 400k), while living in overpriced Toronto and figured out away how he could flip 80k to over 1M with a 100% win rate...that's not gambling.

ok going to stop watching mid way.
you out of your mind bro
NBA is not a police or justice warrior, NBA's job is to maintain integrity the game.
They simply cannot keep player who fixed the game.
No one will ever trust the game anymore, They already have fans, EVEN A PLAYER! making money gesture, suggesting the game is fixed, imagine they keep player who has been gambling and fixing game?
Miles bridges, Ja Morant, or maybe even Josh Giddey, all had nothing to do with game itself... Although NBA will still take appropriate action because they do impact the "image" of the league.
