I have narrow feet so I did go down a full size (generally half a size in Italian sizing). Try M&S for the low cut trainer liner socks, I get mine from there and they never slip off!

But they don’t have the lovely Christian Dior logo on the tongue like your pair!
You cannot tell from a 30 min try if it's comfortable. I bought Gucci sneakers, wore the for a year for a couple of hours, weren't too comfy but ok. Took them to a holiday as my walking shoes, they WRECKED them, and ruined my trip, I could hardly walk I was wounded and blistered, with a vengeance. Pretty is important, but no one is talking about comfort, which is important especially with the price tag attached.
I didn't say they were good walking shoes and I'm sure no one would want to use their dior trainers as walking shoes anyway. I said I wore them for half an hour for a walk and they were comfortable. I didn't claim to have worn them for ages and they were the comfiest shoes ever so I'm not sure what your issue is

I’m a 39, and they advice to go half a size down. Should I go for a 38.5 or a 38?
It's hard for me to say as I got my usual size and they fit me well :)
