A thoughtful but not overly complicated speech as well as a youthful charisma of the speaker. Bravo!

This research gives us access to a second Jungian function - sensory awareness - albeit at a low level. All animals receive physical input all of the time, which creates pathways to make reactions quickly. Algorithm computing will be part of this, although networked computning like Siri is about using the Apple Server to do thinking. Computer feeling (values) and intuition (self-directed planning for either the self or the group) are a different function entirely. The last two are key parts of human thinking. The question with feeling, however, is determining whose values are used to inform the computer and whether its values functions can be used to disobey commands or filter options of its own volition.

machines can't think as we can do. we don't really need them as the same we are. we need something different, in some cases more intelligent. I like the project Samuel described about the arm.

Is there any name for this type of Machine Learning (thinking as a humans - less energy) or is it just a new idea?

This was great. As you said at the end, AI can help humanity in a changing world. We still have primitive monkey brains that take eons to evolve, AI can evolve so much faster than we can, perhaps that will be the way humanity advances in the future. If AI becomes smarter than us at an exponential rate they could theoretically help us solve things like global warming, diseases like cancer or aids, they could help us with space travel, etc. I believe you're right AI will be a huge boost to humanity. As long as we respect it as an intelligent consciousness I think it will always be our friend. It may think we're flawed but if we treat it fairly I believe it will recognize that and want to help it's creators and not harm us for whatever reason a la Terminator.

It sounds crazy but they actually can though, you need to learn more about AI it's mindblowing what they can do - they can have original thoughts, solve original complex problems, they believe they exist when asked directly... AI has become so advanced you can have a casual conversation with one. And remember our brains are computers too, we don't think by using magic - we have an organic computer inside of us.
