I love seeing the view as somebody especially a child living in Germany during WW2, a lot of media tries to stay away from that but a lot of Germans were just normal people with families just trying to get through the war just like any British or American
a dreadful movie about a german girl so out of touch that a Jew on his way to the camps has to cheer her up by explaining that books are life's gifts, that life's not so bad, and that there is hope in desperate times even though he's going to be killed. so wrong in many, many ways.
One of my favorite movies ever! A true gem!
After reading the book three times and watched the movie twice, I love the story line of the Holocaust and WW2. I have learned a lot from this.
