Kyle and Ethan talk to Dr. Frank Turek of CrossExamined.org about bad atheist arguments, evidences for Christianity, and Ethan wrote a special song inspired by Frank's logo choice.
The root of testimony is Testis, meaning 'a witness'. A person cannot witness something if it is not true, that is to say if it is evidence to a point whether it is personally witnessed of universally observeable.
23 minutes in; There's a 5th miracle type which is equally important - casting out demons. If Jesus does not deal with spiritual evil, then he does not bring God's kingdom.
Eh.... good point. Maybe that's included in healing the sick? I think of physical illness as an inconvenience (really understated, of course), but tormented by demons is a spiritual matter. Our spiritual state is the ultimate state.
@@markellis2675 Interesting thought. There are a couple instances when the New Testament calls out a physical ailment caused by demonic oppression, however this is rare (maybe 1 or 2 out of more than a dozen clearly discussed healings). It's important to remember that God created Adam as both a physical and spiritual being, so to say the spirit is the ultimate state edges into gnosticism. Our final destination is not heaven, but resurrection.
@@tubabear1 Yeah. I agree Frank should include casting out demons as the 5th type of miracle. I think he'd agree. I just wonder if he lumped those in one of his 4. Jesus sure talked about Hell & cast out demons enough to show the significance of our souls.
The argument about God making a rock to big for him to lift is like asking if you can draw a 2d rock too big for you to lift. The paper might be too big to lift but the rock you drew is just a drawing composed of markings on a paper. In other words, it’s not applicable since God can simply erase the rock and recreate it elsewhere!
at 22:19 Frank mentions Jesus doing miracles in four categories. Concerning the first category he mentions Jesus was sinless. Uhhmmm... that's not a miracle. That's just Jesus living his life as the Son of God. Since Jesus is equal with God and Jesus is God, he was unable to sin. God cannot perform an act that would go against His very nature. God whose very nature is the definition of morality and righteousness does not have the ability to act contrary to it. This is how we know God cannot lie.
@@EyeToob No because they didn't have other ways to sin just eating the fruit and with the first temptation they fell. Jesus was tempted on everything yet he didn't sin.
@@mariohumberto3397 It doesn't matter how many ways there are to sin. @@EyeToob So if we talk about one time that you avoided sinning, no, I don't believe it is a miracle, but we are talking that Jesus went his whole life without a sin. It is a miracle since only God can do it, no one goes their whole life without sinning with all the temptions present to them, if that was possible then Jesus would not have been needed.
when are y'all making the song available for download? Lol that was awesome
I'm as atheist as you could be but that song was amazin'!
The phrase, "Devouring Bats like a madman." It ought to show up everywhere.
Enjoyed this so much!
thank you for this interview.
Best start to a podcast I've ever seen! 🤣🤣🤣
at 8:25 Ethan : "Alright. So what's the stupidest question you've ever been asked?"
Frank : "That one."
Ethan : "Ok"
LOL

Needed a LOT more bass for the song, couldn't hear any bass drum at all!
The Cross Examined heavy metal theme song is hilarious! \,,/ \,,/

Amen Dr. Frank Turek.

That was a really bad intro, I listen to podcasts when I go to bed, this was very bad for that

Remember that he had the human nature that's why he got tempted, thus it is miracle.

Well meant, but hard to listen to.
Referring to the song, well shouting I should say.
